Federal Heights is a small town in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. The population was 2,487 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pueblo Metropolitan Statistical Area. The land for Federal Heights was donated to the town by Hernando Siles on November 3, 1912. The name "Federal Heights" has been applied to various places in Douglas County since that time including: -Federally held land east of US highway 6 and south of US Highway 40 between 1910 and 1915 -A tract of land along El Centro Creek north of I-25 from 1957 to 1959 -Another tract of land lying between U.S highways 26 and 287 south of Douglas City limits from 1960 to 1966

This device consisted of a pair of small mirrors that were aimed at a mark on the ground and then fed with power before being reflected back out towards the shooter. The user could control how far they got away from their target by adjusting the mirrors’ position relative to one another.

Federal Heights is located in eastern Colorado, just east of the Gunnison River. The town was founded by General James Fenton during the Mexican-American War in 1846 as a military post on the Left Fork of the Gunnison River. On July 16, 1892, Federal Heights became a municipality and was renamed for General George Washington Carver. The townsite is situated on high ground overlooking both Lakes Mead and Red Rock Canyon National Recreation Area. The population of Federal Heights peaked at 914 in 1920 but has declined since then, reaching an all-time low of 717 in 2000. Today, there are only a few hundred residents living within the municipal boundaries of Federal Heights. The history of Federal Heights dates back to when General James Fenton established his military post here during the Mexican-American War. At that time, this area lay along what is now known as Left Fork of the Gunnison River. Soon after its establishment, Fenton named his new settlement Federal Hill because he believed that it would become an important center for transportation and trade between Colorado and Mexico. Fenton's Post Office operated from 1846 until 1892; however, due to issues with mail service being slow or nonexistent between present-day Fort Collins and Mexico City at that time, most transactions took place through trading posts further downriver such as Cheyenne Mountain or Lumpy Hill. As a result, federal officials often traveled toFederal Hill to conduct business during this time period. In 1920, when Federal Heights had a population of 914 people, it was one of several small communities located around Lake Mead National Recreation Area which were struggling economically during those years due to lack of access to essential services like water and sanitation facilities. Many residents chose not to move away from their homes due to these difficult times; however, over time some locals decided they wanted more than just another agricultural community close to some good fishing spots across the river. Consequently, on October 10th OFA approved plans for a new city government called "City Hall" which would be located at what is now Interstate 25 southbound off County Road 6 near milepost 3 (the current site where I-25 meets County Road 4).
Federally owned businesses and stores on Federal Heights have been a part of the community for over 50 years. The shopping district began as a small farmers market, and grew into what it is today with the arrival of Interstate 25 in the early 1960s. A major shopping center was built on what is now east of Colorado Boulevard in the early 1990s, but this development ceased to exist after Federally-owned property was sold to an unrelated company. Today, Federal Heights remains a vibrant commercial area with many familiar names such as Macy's and Sears.
