In that time, Greenwood has seen many changes to its holster industry. The earliest Holsters of Greenwood were made by two brothers named Wesson and Pryor. The first holsters were designed to protect firearms from becoming lost or stolen. They consisted of a piece of cloth with metal staples sewn into it and used as a holster belt attachment. In 1892, Johnnie Ray started making holsters for pistols in Greenwood. He was the first holster maker in the United States to use rivets instead of stitches to attach holsters to weapons. This innovation helped make Holster Manufacturing more efficient and allowed him to produce high-quality items at a lower cost than his competitors. In 1912, Prentice Smith began making holsters for revolvers in Greenwood. He became known for creating unique designs that incorporated details such as hanger straps, buttons, and other features that made hisholster designs stand out from those of his competition. Greenwood is a small town in Larimer County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,584 at the 2010 census. Greenwood is part of the Grand Junction metropolitan area. The town site was platted in 1876 by George Greenwood and his brother-in-law, James Weir. The name "Greenwood" was chosen because of its natural surroundings - a height of about above sea level on rolling hills bordered by the Gunnison River to the east and west. Greenwood's first post office opened in 1880. A railroad station served the community until it closed in 1902. In 1892, George Greenwood donated land to build a Masonic Lodge and Cemetery; this donation remains one of Greenwood's most noted landmarks. In 1906, he also contributed $5,000 to help purchase property for the current high school campus which has since been renamed after him and his wife Emma Reynolds Greenwood (1868-1946). The town motto is "Erected To Memory Of Those Who Lived Here." According to the 2000 census, there were 1,521 people in Greenwood living in 553 households out of a total population of 1,811 people residing in Larimer County at that time: 73% white (of whom 68% were American Indian or Alaska Native), 20% black or African American, 8% Latino/Hispanic origin (including 3% who were Mexican American), 2% Asian Pacific Islander

Greenwood is a small town in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The population was 961 at the 2010 census. Greenwood is one of the oldest towns in Colorado and was founded on October 10, 1876 by men from the nearby city of Grand Junction. The first settler in Greenwood was John Werts, who arrived on October 10, 1876. The town started as a small stage stop on the Santa Fe Trail between Grand Junction and Denver. In 1880, Greenwood became an incorporated village when it voted to become part of the new El Paso County. In 1903, Greenwood built its own schoolhouse and library. It also established water rights for irrigation purposes along with other businesses including grist mills and a store/boatyard. The last white settler to arrive in Greenwood was Tom Green in 1906. Green immigrated from England and his family had farm land near Greeley but he decided to move back home because he found it more difficult to support himself than living away from his friends and family in Greeley. In 1911, Greenwood's lone post office opened with three mailboxes: two for residents and one for those travelling into town from out of town (the first such service within El Paso County).
Greenwood is a village in Douglas County, Colorado, United States. The population was 1,564 at the 2000 census. Greenwood is west of the city of Aurora and east of the town of Aspen. The first settlers in Greenwood were farmers who arrived around 1868. They named their community after Greenwood Forest near Manchester, England. In 1870, they erected a wooden school building which served as their primary educational institution until 1912. A new brick school building was constructed in 1916 and serve as the current academy for Greenwood Village Schools. In 1902, a post office called Greenwold was established in addition to the present one at 5th Street and Everson Avenue. The name change came about because mail from Greenwold went to Aspen instead of Aurora because that was then the only village within Douglas County.
