The company made stands and other items used to hold targets, as well as sellingtarget holders to customers who wanted toshoot targets from outside their homes. In 1916, Target Holder Company merged with two other businesses, the Western Gun Shop and the Eastern Gun Shop, making it one large business. The new company continued to producestands and other items used for target shooting until 1949 when it closed down due to lack of competition. After Target Holder COMPANY closed down, many individual shooters took up the challenge of shooting targets again insteadof using stand-based methods. Some of these shooters formed groups which continuedto shoot Targets until 1977 when they all disbanded due to lackOf funding

Steamboat Springs is part of the Fort Collins–Aurora Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first post office in Steamboat Springs was established on July 14, 1876, and remained in operation until it closed on July 15, 1912. The current post office was opened on December 6, 1912 by J.D. Power and Company as part of a larger postal reform movement that began in earnest in 1907 with the enactment of the Post Office Act of 1911. The town name comes from two log cabins located near where the town now stands on Hwy 508 east of Steamboat Creek: Cabin #1 (now called "Cabin 2") was built c 1872 by Isadore Buffington; Cabin #2 (now called "Cabin 3") was built c 1903 by George Wunderlich and his brother-in-law John Elderkin. It is part of the Grand Junction metropolitan area. Steamboat Springs is located on the Arkansas River, about halfway between Fort Collins and Pueblo. The first Europeans to visit what is now Steamboat Springs were fur trappers and missionaries who travelled through this region in 1824-25. The area that became Steamboat Springs was first known as "Hardscrabble" because of its many hills and steep sides. In 1876, Jethro Gibbs founded the First National Bank in what is now downtown Steamboat Springs. This bank was one of several early banking institutions in this area and played an important role in developing local commerce and industry. During World War II, steamboats based at nearby Long Beach docked here for military purposes (most notably USS Missouri). While other towns had similar docks attached to their waterfronts during wartime due to regulations set by Roosevelt's New Deal programs (such as Long Beach being able to dock only oil tankers), Steamboat Springs had instead opted for self-contained Naval Ammunition Plant docks which would remain operational until 1974 when they were decommissioned following terrorist attacks on U.S.-owned vessels off Mexico City that damaged two warships. Since then much of downtown has been rebuilt around a parking garage/artery system that provides access to education and shopping venues such as Harvey's Department Store & Grill/Bargain Bazaar, plus various restaurants including Bennigan's since 2007; souvenir shops like Sportsman's Warehouse; luxury apartments; a golf course; a Spa & Salon complex with 12 spa rooms; housing developments built specifically for workers who generate renewable energy such as wind turbines or solar panels etc.; natural gas production facilities including three surface storage tanks near Main Street which are used both for storage and providing power during peak hours for local businesses which sell electricity generated by those turbines or panels back into the grid; new infrastructure designed specifically for water skiing - comprising an artificial river created by damming up the Arkansas River just upstream from town limits while also adding an underground skiway - making it possible even during low tides to walk underneath it while keeping your feet above water In December 2009Work began on his longed-for project: A $100 million expansion plans include expanding headquarters northward across I-25 towards Loveland Airport so more people can live close enough to work without commuting time or trainloads of traffic! Homebuilders have already started pouring in starting with families buying homes along US Highway 24 South near I-25 Exit 116A – calling it “The Strip” – just outside Of Steamboat Springs! The expansion will increase jobs by 15 percent plus another 10 percent if all goes according to plan! With nearly 2 dozen construction companies working on this project alone there should be no problem getting things finished on schedule! And once completed you can count yourself lucky not only because you’ll be living right next door but also because we’ve included some really nifty features like: widened sidewalks fronting I-25 so you don’t have To Walk Another Mile!, convenient bike lanes running parallel side streets adjacent to our main drag (something sorely lacking in most cities these days!), brand new high school football stadium just east of our downtown square – perfect place for Pittsburg High School’s annual fall game against Loveland Christian – AND finally an 8 acre park slated simply called “The Park” dueleting right smack dab between I-25 & Main Street…….. heck even we could use another pond or two wouldn’t THAT make life easier?
