The shooting of Adam Lanza in Newtown, Connecticut on December 14, 2012 killed twenty-six people and injured fifty-four others. The incident is considered one of the deadliest mass shootings in American history. It has been called the "most heartbreaking event" to hit Shelton since its incorporation as a town in 1868. Since 1868, Shelton has had an active Shooter Eye Protection program that helps protect residents from becoming victims of gun accidents or shots fired by shooters who may be targeting them specifically. In 2002, a local couple set up a business selling eye protection to shoppers at the nearby Walmart Supercenter. They became known as "the Walgreen's shooters." In 2007, an individual opened fire on a college student walkers near campus in Newtown. The shooter was apprehended after shootmg three students and wounding two others before collapsing from his wounds outside the school gates. That shooting also led to the founding of Sandy Hook Promise, which helps provide financial assistance for families affected by gun violence. In 2009, two men were shot dead while out for a walk near Cherry Hill Elementary School in Newtown. That shooting led to the creation of caliber limit sanctuaries program which encourages owners of firearms with certain calibers not to sell them to individuals under eighteen years old without first getting written consent from their parents or legal guardians. In 2013, four people were killed and several dozen were wounded when gunman Open carry enthusiast opened fire at Disneyworld Resort’s Magic Kingdom Parade practice field during Disneyland’s All You Can Eat parade night celebration phase last season; later that year it was revealed that NRA member James Holmes had purchased tickets for himself and six other people to watch the parade from start to finish despite being barred from participating because he is convicted felon (his original ticket said he could only attend if accompanied by five friends).

Shelton is a town in Hartford County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 20,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the New Haven–Hartford–Worchester, CT Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Shelton were English traders and explorers who came ashore on Long Island in 1624 and 1625 looking for a passage to China. They found no tributaries of the Connecticut River and so named it "New Netherland" after their new homeland in England. The first permanent settler in Shelton was John Atwater in 1792. He bought land from the Pequot Indians and built a house on what is now Main Street which still stands today. In 1814, General Israel Putnam organized the First Connecticut Militia under his command and Shelton became its arsenal; puttanates (a type of artillery) were thenthe primary armament used by militiamen throughout much of America until well into World War II. Shelton's early years were difficult because there was little industry or trade within its boundaries due to scarcity of resources such as coal, timber, iron ore, etc., which made transportation difficult and expensive. However during the late 1800s through to the present day Shelton has seen significant growth with an increase in population from 10 to 20 thousand people over time as well as major development projects such as the addition of a new elementary school (1896), an ambulance station (1948), renovated courthouse (1974), expansion of Interstate 95 (1994), a Walmart Supercenter (2006), and even a new ice cream store called "Milkshake Mountain" that opened in 2013! In recent years there has been support for local businesses including anti-globalization protests taking place at nearby Walmart locations while other businesses have closed or struggledromycline prices continueto rise across most developed countries despite numerous government subsidies along with job losses due to automation! Despite this struggling environment many people continue to live here despite some challenges such as low median household income ($60,000 vs $75K+) which limits access to quality education and social services; however many residents feel that they cannot leave without experiencing great hardship or worse

The use of bright light sources and sunglasses became popularized over the years as technology improved. Today, Shooter Eye Protection (SEP) is an essential part of any shooter's safety equipment. SEP consists of a face shield orsunglasses that fits snugly over the shooter's eyes and limits exposure to bright light; and a helmet or head protection device that fits snugly over the shooter's head and guards against impacts from gunfire. The history of Shooter Eye Protection begins with early development of eyeglasses in the 1840s. In 1846, Englishman John Boyd designed eyeglasses that used lenses made from two thin pieces of metal glued together at one end so that they would not fog up when being worn outside. In 1862, American Benjamin Franklin Dyson patented his own solution to creating clear “shooter’s eye” glasses by using small lens caps instead of round lenses on each side of the prescription frame (see photo). Despite this advance in technology, it was not until 1876 that an effective way to protect shooters from gunshot injuries was developed when British scientist John Kempsterry demonstrated how he could place filters on shaded areas inside his laboratory so he could see objects clearly while firing firearms (see photo). Two years later, Kempsterry published his article “On Some new Improvements in Shooting Glasses” which helped change gunnery methods for future generations. Kempsterry was recognized by contemporaries as one of the most accomplished firearm scientists ever born; his work has been cited 400 times according to Google Scholar™ search results! The importance and impact of Kempsterry's work can be seen today as many modern shooters use goggles or SEP while firing weapons for their own safety purposes; such precautions are necessary for maintaining safe firefights both recreationally and militarily. SEP has since become an all-encompassing movement towards safer shootings across all industries including law enforcement, security guard services and hunting/ fishing!

In 1825, the town was Named for Colonel Richard Shelton who had fought in the American Revolution and died in battle. In 1828, Shelton became one of the towns in what is now Hartford County when it was split from Windsor County. Starting around 1830s, many farmers started to settle in Shelton because of its fertile land and good water supply; this led to growth and development over time. By 1860, there were more than 350 homes and businesses in Shelton with an estimated population of 2,000 people. A post office called Shelton was established in 1827, but it did not remain open long because there were only three residents living there at that time; it was renamed Westfield after nearby Westfield Forge which became a county seat around that time. The first mayor of Shelton was Jonathan Gurney who served from 1830 to 1840; he also served as treasurer during this time period. In 1865, General Ulysses S Grant visited ShelTON while on his way to visit President Abraham Lincoln at Ford’s Theatre outside Washington D C.; during his visit he inspected military hospitals being built throughout America due to the Civil War which had begun two years earlier. After his visit, General Grant recommended that United States Congress appropriate $10 thousand dollars towards building a hospital for shelTON which would become known as Union Hospital later on….. The first store opened up in 1870 called Ainsworth & Sons Hardware where George Ainsworth operated until 1888 when he sold his business to Wm Hetherington Jr.; this building still stands today next door to Peddle’s Drug Store which closed down in 1984 after numerous violations by its operators including selling drugs without getting FDA approval….. In 1886 John Fenton opened up J Fenton’s Bakeries where he ran until 1938 when he sold it to Mitchell Ivey who reopened it as King Arthur Bakery before closing it down again several times; finallyit reopened again under new ownership several times before being bought out by Gibbs Trading Company who closed it down for good late last year………. As mentioned earlier many businesses closed down or changed ownership over time such as Peddle's Drug Store (1984), King Arthur Bakery (1886-1938), Mitchell Ivey (1938-1978), Gibbs Trading Company (1987-2001), Turner Broadcasting System/NBCUniversal(2001)………………….
