Aventura, Florida is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,611 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area and is included in the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–Pompano Beach Combined Statistical Area. Aventura is named after Count Floriano de Amalfi who founded what would becomeMiami in 1835. Aventura's history can be traced back to 1835 when Spanish explorer Manuel Ortega y Gasset discovered an uninhabited island near present-day Aventura and named it "Isla de las Mujeres". The town was platted in 1856 by J. P. Morgan as a development for his steel mills located on the mainland opposite Biscayne Bayou; these were soon abandoned and filed away as unprofitable ventures. In 1898, entrepreneur Simeon Levy purchased 350 acres (160 hectares) of land east of downtown from John D'Angelo for $25 per acre ($ million equivalent today). This land became known as Levy Park after Levy's son Simeon Jr.'sinitial donation which helped support many aspects of Aventura's growth including its first streetcar system (1898), public library (1899), tennis courts (1905), fire department (1920), health club (1922), and numerous other civic amenities over time. During World War II Anzio Operation made Aventura one of the most heavily bombed areas in the US with more than 100 bombings during just 12 days on December 8th 1945 alone! Today you will find evidence all over town such as bomb shells still lying around that were used during WWII! Today much like then much of what makes this place special comes down to history! With so many sites that have been touched by war or are still standing such as Our Lady Of Peace Cathedral built during World War II now housing offices/The University Of Central Florida it really gives off a feeling like its always been here!

Aventura, Florida is a small town located in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population was 30,825 at the 2010 census. Aventura is part of the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first residents of what is now Aventura were Spanish settlers who arrived in 1763. The name "Aventura" comes from the Maya word "kahuaná". It means "place where many animals are found." In 1868, Aventura became an incorporated municipality and soon developed into a major center for citrus production in Southwest Florida. The fruits that were shipped to markets all over the world were based on oranges grown here. By 1925, however, most of the orange production had been abandoned because of freezes and other weather conditions during the Great Depression. The post office was established at Aventura in 1888 and remained open until it closed on December 15, 1960. A business community grew up around the new shopping mall that opened in 1978 called The Mall at Aventura Boulevard and State Road 805 (now US Highways 1-87). This development included several large banks and department stores as well as numerous smaller businesses including restaurants and cafes. Many people considered this area to be one of South Beach's most vibrant neighborhoods because it featured a mix of high-end shops with creative nightlife options near by while also being minutes from some excellent beaches such as Miami Beach or Fort Lauderdale International Airport
Aventura is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,702 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood metropolitan area. Aventura was founded on November 7, 1923 by two businessmen: Harry Laughlin and Herbert Hirschhorn. The name means "avenue of dreams." Aventura's first post office opened in 1924. In 1927, it became a town. On December 3, 1928, it became an incorporated municipality with a population of 582 people. On January 1, 1931, it became an unincorporated community with a population of 806 people. On October 15, 1933 Aventura was annexed by Miami Beach as its newest municipal district and received its own police department and fire department. The annexation created much animosity between the two municipalities and led to several lawsuits; however finally on July 9th 1944 both municipalities finalized their merger into one with Aventura as its new capital under Mayor Carlos Menendez’s leadership
