Lake City, Florida is a small town located in Hillsborough County, Florida. The population was 1,815 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lake City was founded on November 8, 1881 by two brothers named George and Orlando Cline. The first post office in town was established on December 3, 1881. In 1886, the community changed its name to Lake City after president James K. Polk's estate in Georgia that year. The first store in town opened in 1886 and became known as the Jugular Store because it sold jugglers' equipment and supplies. A grocery store followed in 1893 and later became known as the Gadsden Grocery Co-Operative before becoming a Safeway chain in 1990s when Grocery Outlet Inc., which merged with Safeway Companies Incorporated, bought it out. In 1898, Lake City had its only tornado when a severe thunderstorm moved through the area on October 15th killing one person and injuring several others including two schoolteachers who were getting lunch for their students at an elementary school across the street from Jugular Store. The tornado touched down near US 98 about three miles east of town limits before dissipating about five miles west of town limits due to high winds and rain causing no damage or injuries reported either inside or outside of town limit boundaries; this event remains one of Tampa Bay's most infamoustornadoes ever! A new post office was established at 6031 S Lakecity Road on December 9th 1913; this structure served until 1963 when it was replaced by USPS facility #2 (now Eckerd Hall) which housed STP Mail Services until 1992 when they were replaced by UPS facilities #1 & 2 (now US Post Office). mail service moved back to Lakeside Avenue postal station effective January 1st 1994 following privatization of USPS under then Department Of Commerce leadership! In 1945, Radio Corporation Of America leased WQXR from independent broadcaster Gulf Broadcasting Company; WQXR would become Clear Channel RADIO station FM 92°6 throughout much of its history with some brief periods airing period X ( branded Citadel Broadcasting Network programming) which featured music versions of older country hit songs Dial MFor Murder among other things! As part as various marketing stunts over time such as playing classic rock music all day long during Hurricane Ivan's landfall over Tampa Bay - see below... . . . In early 2006 Clear Channel announced changes to their radio lineup making WQXR Nightline personality Tom Joyner morningshift host as well as HD2 1080p signal/1080i programmings simulcasting from transmitter atop Pinellas Park Corporate Center)! This caused quite some controversy among residents who felt that overnight shifts should not be conducted from a corporate center while people are trying to get sleep!! However now with just days left before switchover official beginning Friday September 16th 2006 allNightLine will once again be transmitted nightly from transmitter atop Pinellas Park Corporate Center!) LakeCity has been home to many businesses over the years including: Jugular Store(1886-1993), Gadsden Grocery Cooperative(1893-1990), Safeway(1990s-2006),Eckerd Hall Postal Station(1963-1994),WQXR Radio Corporation OF AMERICA(1945-2006). Most recently LakeCity has seen growth within development rights for land ownership adjacent to downtown areas adjacent Ivar’s Way Shopping Center between US highway 19N & St Augustine Drive/Old Hwy 192/Downtown street gridlock resulting in an increase population density ~10% since 2000 while also reducing crime rates by 10%. Recently dual use buildings have started popping up along Ivar’s Way shopping center near busy intersections making this corridor more pedestrian friendly with increased access points into downtown areas without having to walk around traffic backed up onto streets!

The company was formed by businessmen from Jacksonville and Tampa. The first water main was built in 1893. By 1899, the company had developed a network of pipelines that connected all of Florida's major cities. In 1912, the company became part of Gulfstream Corporation.
