In the early 1800s, Bainbridge was a small town in northeastern Georgia. It became known for its firearms and ammunition businesses, which were some of the most important in the area. The town's gunsmiths produced many of the country's first firearms, including handguns and rifles. In addition to its firearms businesses, Bainbridge also became well-known for its brewing industry, particularly for their blackberry beer. The Town of Bainbridge was chartered on April 15, 1785 by General James Wilkinson as a town in Cherokee Nation territory. The town was named after Captain James Bainbridge who fought against British forces at the Battle of Bunker Hill in 1804. At its peak during the late 1800s and early 1900s, Bainbridge had over 100 residents and dozens of businesses. By 1920, however, it had only around 30 residents remaining and all but two businesses had gone out of business by that point. One reason why Bainbridge declined to take off like other post-World War II boomtowns such as Atlanta or Jacksonville is that it lacked a strong foundation of gun culture As early as 1814 when an Indian attack killed 10 local men while hunting deer near present day Hawkinsville (Bainbridge), goats were common among settlers because they could not carry guns due to restrictions placed on Native Americans by their government When violence broke out between white settlers and Cherokees living east of Muscogee Creek in 1818 resulted in more than 20 deaths including 5 children (the deadliest attack on Indians since contact), traders turned to buying Native American artifacts instead Firearms production began increasing exponentially with Europeans coming into Georgia seeking new land to settle such as what is now Alabama , Tennessee and Kentucky . This led to increased demand for firearms from Native Americans who now saw European colonizers as potential threats rather then friends or partners

Bainbridge, Georgia is a small town located in Muscona County, Alabama. The population was 1,845 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Muscona County. The first settlers in Bainbridge were David and Phyllis Harper who arrived in 1819. Their children were John and Lois Harper. The Harpers built a log cabin on the banks of the Chattahoochee River in 1827. They became prominent citizens of Bainbridge and had several children who also played an important role in its growth: Cynthia, Marylene, Harry W., Alice L., Walton H., Meta M., Donald J., (Doris) Everett Pugh, (John) Earnest Suggs and Barbara Pugh-Davis. In 1865, they donated land to build what is now the courthouse square. The Harpers also donated money for a school which was built on their property in 1872. The original school building still stands as part of Bainbridge's public library system today! David Boren became Governor of Alabama in 1971 and served until 1977 when he succeeded George Wallace as President of United States after being elected by popular vote instead of through electoral vote! He was one of few politicians to cross party lines during that time period! After leaving office Boren moved back to his home state of Alabama where he currently reside

Bainbridge is a small town in Clarke County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,059 at the 2010 census. Bainbridge was founded by John Bainbridge and his wife Lydia in 1807. The first store in Bainbridge was built on the now-demolished site of what is now the high school. In 1850, George Washington Bainbridge donated land to make up for a loss he suffered when his ship, USS Constitution sank off the coast of Jacksonville, Florida during the Seminole Wars. In 1863, John and Lydia Bainbridge had their only child, James K. Bainbridge Jr., who became an attorney and businessman in Atlanta. James K. Bainbridge Sr.'s death in 1865 led to increased business activity for the town; however, it would not reach its current level until after World War II when new development came along and expanded taxable acres (the result of post-World War II land speculation). In 1907–1908, prior to Fulton County's incorporation as a county under state law that took effect on February 3rd of that year,[1] John Clements Bainbridge donated two lots located north of downtown Athens to be used as part of an agricultural college called Mercer University which would become known as Georgia Southern College later that same year.[2][3] On October 1st 1908 – just one week before incorporation,[4] Georgian state legislator Jeptha Hargrave presented a resolution designating Athens as "the Townsite" for Mercer University purposes with property east of State Street between Fifth and Sixth Streets forming "The Square". This square remains today as part of downtown Athens's core area;[5][6] also within this square are three buildings which currently house both the municipal court building[7][8] and portions of city hall;[9][10] all three structures were completed between 1911-1920 following construction bids from local builder Alfred Pappoe.[11][12][13]:94: Mercer University relocated from Athens to Durham NC starting Fall semester 1909 due to funding shortages caused by World War I.[14]:193: Mercer then reopened in January 1920 at its original location with classes continuing through May 1921 but ceased operations due again to funding shortages caused by World War II onwards (students were transferred back across state lines).[15]:229: When Gwinnett County was established on July 1st 1920,[16]:238: it included much or all of what is now Clarke County including parts or all of Athens proper;[17]:247:[18], so too did Chattahoochee Valley Townsite incorporate into Gwinnett Countys government on December 12th 1922 effective January 2nd 1923.[19],[20]; thus making Athens mayoralty status dormant until reactivated on March 9th 1953 upon mayoral appointment by Governor Macon McCormick effective April 15th 1953:[21],[22],[23]: With seat permanently vacant since 1952 attributable primarily to lack thereof having never been filled

Bainbridge is a town in Fulton County, Georgia. The population was 2,827 at the 2000 census. It was once a separate municipality, but merged with Fulton on February 1, 1998.
