The company has been in business continuously since then, manufacturing over a million magazines throughout North America. The Gun Magazines Company is headquartered in Buford and employs over 100 people. It distributes its products nationally through more than 350 stores, as well as online and through mail order. In 2018, the company celebrated its 125th anniversary with a series of events including an exhibit at the Georgia History Museum and a bake sale that raised money for pediatric cancer research.

Buford is a city in Georgia, United States. The population was 7,521 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Buford County. The first inhabitants of what is now Buford were the Creek people who lived along the Chattahoochee River before coming to live in present-day Georgia about 1800. They were followed by European settlers from other parts of the United States, beginning with Captain James Cook's voyage around Cape Horn in 1769 and continuing through the mid-19th century with various fur traders, such as John Jacob Astor, who founded trading posts near what is now downtown Buford. In 1802, General James Polk moved his army during the Mexican–American War from Milledgeville to what are now downtown Buford after finding that Milledgeville was too crowded and dangerous for soldiers to do their job effectively. In 1825, Buford became one of two towns in Jackson County when it was split off from Jackson County proper. The townspeople petitioned for incorporation as a city on November 3, 1829; they were successful and incorporated on December 4 of that year under the name "Buford". The town had a population of just over 100 people when it became an official city Limits on February 1, 1930. On October 5, 1932 – four days after President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed into law legislation creating Delta Air Lines – Burrell Air Force Base opened its doors to service local military aircraft ferrying troops and supplies across Lake Pontchartrain over central Mississippi during World War II; this made Buford one of only a few cities in America directly impacted by wartime expansionism. The post-war boom brought new development to downtown Buford including several high-rise buildings built between 1946 and 1948 which still stand today: North Terminal Tower (now known as Government Center), South Terminal Tower (now known as First Baptist Church), West Terminal Tower (now known as Peachtree Plaza). One notable building destroyed or replaced during this time period was Peoples National Bank Building located at 401 E Broad Street which served as headquarters for Delta Airlines until its closure in 1978 following adverse publicity caused by then-CEO Ralph Martell's affair with singer Pat Boone; however replacement facilities were already being constructed at nearby government buildings prior to its closure so no losslay occurred within displacement or budget implicationsquesnically speaking
Buford was founded by African Americans in 1881 as a small farming community. It grew rapidly and soon became the largest black town in Georgia. Buford experienced many changes during its history, including Reconstruction, the Jim Crow era, and the civil rights movement. In recent years, Buford has become an important center for education and industry.
