Cusseta is a small town in Georgia that is located in the Troup County seat. The population was 1,965 at the 2010 census. Cusseta is part of the Athens-Clarke metropolitan area. The community was founded on October 15, 1853 by two men from Augusta, Georgia named George and Samuel Cussella. It was named for Captain John Cussella of the U.S. Revenue Cutter "CSS Alabama" who had been lost at sea with his force on July 10, 1853 while engaged in an expedition against piracy off Cape Girardeau River. Captain Cussella's body has never been found but his hat and sword have been found along with a quantity of stores and equipment which helped to build up what would become Cusseta as a small town over time. The first post office was established in 1854 and it remained open until 1963 when it changed its name to Athens-Clarke because of the growing annexation of neighboring townships into Athens County (which then became Clarke County). Today, there are only a few hundred people living within walking distance of downtown where they enjoy their local businesses, churches, schools and public squares as well as easy access to Interstate 85/75 which connects them to Atlanta or other larger cities nearby. While many residents continue to rely on agriculture as their primary source of income, some businesses have begun To see growth due to new developments such as retail parks and an expressway being built just outside the town limits that will make it easier for visitorsinda

Until then, people relied on other methods to hold targets, such as using a human hand or using an animal’s dung. However, shooting targets with a gun was becoming more and more popular throughout this time period. The first target holders were designed in 1847 by Major John Brownell and Colonel George Armstrong Dixon for use with breech-loading guns. These devices consisted of a stand made from two pieces of wood measuring about 8 feet tall and 2 feet wide at its widest point, fitted with four legs that could be rotated to line up the sights of the gun on either side of the stand. A dummy bullet was placed in one end of the stand and fired by depressing a trigger at one end; once it had traveled halfway around the stand, it was released and advanced to another site on the stand where it would rest until it hit something else, such as a piece of paper or a leather loop used as an aiming platform. Thereafter, each rifleman would have his own target holder which he could move to wherever he wanted within rangeof his weapon without having to leave his position. During World War I,Target Holder production increased exponentially because so many soldiers were deployed overseas fighting in various theaters including America’s entry into World War I in 1917. The use of Target Holders continued during World War II when ammunition became scarce and troops began using them as part of their fire support system . Target holders continue to be used today by law enforcement officers who need easy access to firing positions while conducting investigations or demonstrations

Cusseta is a small town located in Chatham County, Georgia. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. Cusseta is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The first people to live in what is now Cusseta were the Creeks. They moved from their original home on the Chattahoochee River some time during the 18th century. By 1800, they had established themselves in a trading post on Hiwassee Island which they called "Cousetown." The Creeks also built a sawmill and grist mill on Hiwassee Island. In 1815, John Floyd sold land to Alexander Stephens for $2,500 which he renamed "Stephens Hill." A store and blacksmith shop were built on this site around 1830 by Crispus Attucks who named it "Attucksville." In 1842, Captain John Foulke bought 1000 acres of land along the Chattahoochee River from Andrew Pickens for $10 per acre. He named it "Foulkes Landing" after himself and his brother-in-law Colonel James Gadsden (whose plantation was just east of present day Cusseta). This landing became known as Foulkesville because of its location near Foulke's Ferry which ferried goods between Atlanta and Chattanooga. AfterCaptain Foulke died in 1845, his estate passed to his son Augustus Foulke Jr., who made additions to the house and barns at Foulsville Landing until 1861 when he sold it to Hennepin County for $4 per acre. At this point most of what is now Cusseta developed as farmlands around Foulsville Landing where cotton ginners ginned cotton into bales that were shipped overland to markets in New Orleans and Savannah. During Reconstruction period (1865-1877), many white Georgians migrated westward looking for opportunities after being denied voting rights by former Confederate President Abraham Lincoln because most African Americans living within Union lines had served honestly under Confederate officers or been caught up in military action outside of Georgia. Many whites began moving into what are today Cusseta through various means such as buying land from farmers or offering free land to settlers who would move onto it once it became available either through purchase or natural selection due to factors like low water levels or Tract Sales laws enacted during Reconstruction which provided extra lands (usually river bottom) adjacent to rivers/cities not currently possessed by farmers for sale purposes only with no right of way through those resources nor development allowed without payment thereof including taxes). With passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 African American citizens starting returning home following long years away following great violence & intimidation while living among Unequal Laws (& Jim Crow Laws) they finally received Right To Vote while White Citizens continued To Enjoy full Privilege Under Law
