Forest Park is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. Forest Park is one of the oldest cities in Atlanta and has been around since 1837. The city was named for John Forrest, who purchased 7½ acres (2 km²) of land here in 1837. The first knife made in Forest Park was a pocketknife made by George Aiken. Knife maker Hezekiah Hockaday also produced knives here from about 1875-1892. In 1902, knife maker Augustus Telfair opened his own factory in Forest Park and continued making knives until his death in 1944. In 1925, knife company Jens Jensen sent its entire workforce to Japan to learn how to make katana swords there. When they returned they reopened their factory with American workers and continued making daggers and kitchen knives there until they went out of business in 1978. In 2002, knife brand Emerson's reintroduced the ancient Japanese style "tachi" as part of their Emerson's New Classics line ofknives which included some unusual designs such as a clamshell opener that could be opened using just your thumb or your index finger! This unique design set off a craze for tachi Knives across America which continues today!

Forest Park is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 5,181 at the 2010 census. It is the largest city in Fulton County by both population and land area. Forest Park is located on the east side of Atlanta. The first Europeans to visit what is now Forest Park were surveyors working for the government of Georgia in 1795-96. They named it "Ebenezer" after Mount Eden in New Hampshire, but no one ever built there because they were not able to get a clear picture of the landscape from that distance. In 1814, General Andrew Jackson made an agreement with Colonel James Russell over land between Lookout Mountain and Stone Mountain which became known as Falcon Heights golf Course (later acquired by Coca Cola). It wasn't until 1833 that somebody actually built a house there – John Wesley Powell had been sent by President Jackson to explore possible southern routes for the railroads and he visited Falcons Nest while on his way back from Tennessee Valley Territory exploration in 1832. He recommended that Atlanta build a depot here so that business could be conducted easier with less traveling time between cities. In 1835, Forrest Godwin bought 100 acres of what would later become Forest Park from Captain John Smith for $5 per acre (about $ today). At this timeAtlanta was experiencing rapid growth due to its new importance as a seaport and center for commerce followingilledove injury lawsuits brought against several leading citizens including Paul Revere and Jonathan Swift when their ships ran into rocks off Sandy Hook Point during winter 1840-41). Godwin wanted to create an open space around his home where people could picnic, play football or baseball, etc., something like Richmond's Botanical Gardens nearby which had been opened just two years earlier! While much of what we know about Forest Park today comes from history textbooks such as African Americans living near white people during Reconstruction who helped plant trees (), many residents contributed their own pieces of community history within minutes or hours of browsing ancestry websites or reading park brochures dating back decades! One such resident was Mrs. Mable White who donated her entire garden across Stadium Drive from her home on Old Milton Road near present day Dunwoody Rd./Cobb Mill Rd.(near Ponce de Leon Ave.) to make room for what would eventually become Forest Park Lake! Mrs. White also founded the Ladies Aid Society Club which met monthly at her home until 1906 when it moved into its current building East Lake Street corner Of Griggs Street/East Elm Street) . Mrs White's donation set off quite an event as Atlantans began playing games such as "Tugboat" on Hermitage Creek adjacent to her garden starting in1857! A plaque marking this event can be found near Hermitage Creek Bridgehead just south of I-285 exit 45A/Old Milton Road.). Another significant contribution came from Ebenezer Baptist Church member Rev . Jno Witherspoon who donated land along Five Forks Road(now War Eagle Parkway)behind Druid Hill Cemeteryto provide access to his churchyard through three gates: Gate 1 led up Springhill Drive(now Five Forks Rd.), Gate 2 went down Pinecrest Avenue(now Chattahoochee Hills Avenue),and Gate 3 led down Grosse Pointe Way(present day Beltline Expressway)). Dr.-Edmund Sullenberger Sr.(one half owner & general manager / CEO - Southern Airways Company - parent company Delta Air Lines) donated four large trees () tall plus two smaller ones() each standing inside girders along I-285 northbound between Sandy Springs Blvd./Dalston Ave./Peachtree Hwy

Forrest Park is a city in Fulton County, Georgia, United States. The population was 993 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Forrest Park was founded in 1868 by developers from Savannah and had its peak population of 3,500 in the 1920s but has since declined to 1,800 people as of 2010. The first occupants of what is now Forrest Park were farmers who grew cotton and peanuts. A post office called Forrest Park was established in 1868, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1881, the city of Savannah built a school on land that now includes much of Forrest Park. The town growth continued until 1895 when an act of Congress designated Forest Park as a separate incorporated municipality with its own government and budget. The primary industries during this time period were farming and commerce although there were also some small manufacturing businesses such as a few breweries and saddles for horseback riding around this time frame In 1906, forest park annexed parts of neighboring Decatur which had been annexed into Atlanta by then-Governor Nathan Deal It wasn't until 1958 that Forrest Park annexations became more common due to annexation requests from other cities within Fulton County including Centennial (1962) and Dunwoody (1964). In 1978, after years of planning by Mayor Johnnie Lee Jackson Sr., Forrest Park became an independent city once again with its own elected officials In 1990s another annexation request came about from Alpharetta which would eventually become Fulton County's most populous city with over 2 million residents at the time After much deliberation, Mayor James Knowlesconfirmed plans to annex portions of Carrollton onto his city's property on December 12th 1994 while still serving as mayor of Atlanta
