In 1785, General James Oglethorpe and his forces invaded the area and destroyed the Creeks’ homes and villages. The group of men that were left behind moved to what is now known as Athens County, Alabama and began to build their own homes and farms. They started a cotton gin, built schools, planted corn and wheat crops, raised livestock and participated in local militia activities. In 1811, General Andrew Jackson led an invasion of Georgia against the Creek Indians. When he arrived at nearby Gainesville on December 13th, he found that many of the buildings had been destroyed by the Indians but also discovered some cannonballs still lodged in trees near where Milton now stands!Jackson ordered General Davidsel Adams to take action and start rebuilding what had been lost. Adams did this by flying over the town on horseback with a telescope to see if he could find any survivors or wreckage. After checking everything out, Adams reported back that everything had been completely destroyed! However, because of all of this trouble caused by General Jackson’s army during his Invasion of Georgia (1812), many people in Milton decided to move away from there before things got too bad. One such person was John Wesley Powell who journeyed down through Central Georgia in 1868 while exploring possible routes for Railroads between Atlanta and Chattanooga!Milton remained an agricultural community until World War II when it began manufacturing products like parachutes for military use! After World War II ended however, most factories closed down leaving Milton with only a few small businesses remaining today!In addition to its rich history which can be seen within its walls today (such as being home to one of America’s first cotton gins), Milton has also become known for having one of the highest fertility rates in America! This is due largely to its rich soil which provides ample amounts of food for crops as well as good water resources! Today even though it may look little different than it did centuries ago thanks mainly to advances in technology (such as satellite imagery), Milton still has much left to offer those looking for something special about their hometown!
