At that time, water taxis were available from Salmon Arm downriver to Haydenville for passengers carrying goods upriver to Canmore or Silverdale; today's Interstate 25 freeway provides that same service without having to go through Haydenville. In 1888, John Myrick purchased about 200 acres (81 hectares) north-northeast of present day Boise City from Jens Christensen for $1 million dollars cash plus 10 percent interest per annum until 2022 when he conveyed title back to Christensen subject only to payment on future auction sales if desired by either party resulting in an initial total purchase price of $13 million dollars with no option for redemption or shares other than through gift certificates becoming worthless over time like many other real estate deals during that period including those made by Myrick himself when he became proprietor/operator thereof).
