In 1857 Jacksonville amalgamated with other townships within Cook County to form Jackson Township which still remains its name today even though it has since grown again into its present size thanks to annexation by Danville earlier this decade! Jackson township originally lay east of downtownChicago along State Street between Randolph and Washington Streets before it moved westward across Randolph Street towards its current location adjacent to I-255/I-294 just south of Armitage Road! On November 2nd1873 during a great fire that destroyed mostofthe Village Center including Bank Tower two factions emerged: those who wantedJacksontown back like their old self which they had always thought they did because they felt like their sacrifices had paid off ( mainly financially) while others saw the destruction as another example that more effort should be put into tryingto rebuild rather then giving up so easily! After much debate both factions compromised and Jacksontown returned TO ITS ORIGINAL LOCATION WITH A MASSIVE THANKS TO ALL OF THE MEMBERS OF THE FORMER FACTION THAT SOLD THEIR houses BACK TO THE VILLAGE AGAIN AFTER THE FIRE!!! This event helped bring about many social changes withinJacksontown such as less reliance on agriculture for sustenance making JJTC more able to support itself without government assistance which would have resulted in financial hardship!
