In addition to creating innovative holsters that helped shape today's handguns industry, Prentice also served as an early advocate for responsible gun ownership and safety practices. The first American Outfitters holsters were made from horsehide and featured a webbing strap to secure the holster to the belt.
Hammond is a small, Midwestern town in Noble County, Indiana. The population was 1,949 at the 2010 census. Hammond is the seat of Noble County and home to Hammond High School and the Hammond Civic Center. The first Europeans to visit what is now Hammond were Frenchmen in 1764. A post office was established here on October 10, 1876, but it was discontinued on January 15, 1903. The name of the town came from General John C. Hammond who fought in the American Civil War as a general for Union forces. In 1892, a spring called White Water Springs appeared along U.S.-36 just east of present-day Hammond; this spring became known as "Hammond's Spring" because it fed water to many local homes in the area until 1906 when a dam was built upstream and this renamed White Water Falls after then-Mayor Hanks Whitehead's wife). The community had two hotels before 1909: One operated by William Fenton and another by JB Marriott (founder of Marriott Hotels). In 1907–08 Hammond also had its first professional ice hockey team which played in the Northern Professional Hockey League (NPHL) with teams based in Indianapolis and Terre Haute (Indiana). The team lasted only one season before folding due to lack of funding; however, this event remains historically significant within the city as both ice cream truck racing activities at nearby Hiwassee Lake during that time period helped support local hockey attendance records over that span! Hornets Hockey Club later formed out of leftover players from that initial NPHL team - playing their inaugural game on October 13th 2008 against Terre Hauteiors HC! A second NPHL franchise would be founded by businessmen Peter Maloney & Don Kriegel less than two months later –the Jeff City Knights – playing their first ever game on November 4th2008 against visiting Pekin Blackhawks! At various points throughout its history Hornets RFC has been affiliated with either side of an interstate highway

Hammond is a small town in Kosciusko County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,539 at the 2010 census. Hammond was founded in 1812 by John Hammond and his family. It was named for General George Custer. Hammond is part of the Gary, Indiana Metropolitan Statistical Area. Hammond has a rich history that can be seen from its earliest settlers to today's residents. The town was founded on the banks of the Chicago River by John Hammond and his family in 1812. At first, the Hammons lived on what is now known as Main Street. They were soon joined by other families who had moved into the area from nearby Decatur and North Chicago areas during this time period. The first school in Hammond was built on land donated by Nicholas Wolkhorst in 1814-1815. This building served as both a church and school until it burned down in 1838-1839. A new school was built on present day Northwest First Street near East High School around this time frame (1816-1824). In 1830, Hammond also became home to one of the first churches in Kosciusko County when Methodists arrived from Kentucky via Illinois. Reverend James Stephenson officiated at this church until he died suddenly while preaching outside of town on Christmas Day 1834 – an event which left an lasting impression on local citizens. In 1840, following territorial acquisitions within Kosciusko County, Hammond reached its peak with 3200 residents according to one report! Unfortunately for this community however, rapid growth led to numerous problems such as poverty and social unrest which often spilled over into neighboring townships through crime and political corruption scandals). In addition to economic woes many residents started moving out of town due to water shortages or improved transportation options available closer to larger cities like Gary or Indianapolis (this migration helped contribute to public opinion supporting full statehood for Kosciusko County only after much discussion among various members of Congress)). By 1850 however, most people living within sight of each other had either left or been replaced by newcomers originating from elsewhere within Indiana or Ohio – another sign that times had changed drastically since early nineteenth century when Hammond thrived as center stage for various activities important to its inhabitants including religious services, farming practices etc.). It wasn't until 1861 when a new post office called "Hammond" opened up just east of downtown – marking not only the beginning but also continued growth and development for what would become one of America's most large easternIndiana communities hosting more than 10K+ individuals annually over ensuing years (a figure still high today considering average household size across all metropolitan areas located within 100 miles ranges)! During this time period there were also several large military engagements fought nearby such as Battle Creek Campaign against Native Americans between October 1862 - November 1863; Battle of Coldwater Creek between December 1862 & January 1863; Siege of Fort Dearborn Heights between February & March 1865; Michigan Expedition against Indian Territory under General William Tecumseh Sherman between April 1865 - November 1865). Mayor Tom Drake served intermittently from 1888-1900 before being elected mayoralty term ending May 6th 1901 with 172 days remaining upon his election victory over incumbent Hemanus Whitehouse; taking office less than two weeks prior thereto! That same year saw major changes take place within the community with incorporation becoming official effective September 1st 1901 after lengthy vote count process culminating with final decision made by City Council members chaired by Mayor Drake during their meeting held at Mitchell Park following morning coffee purchase ritual) resulting in establishment of city limits encompassing all current unincorporated portions lying east side Of I-65/west side OF US 31 business district) thus effectively surrounding entire community inside city limits making it possible for city government functions including zoning ordinances etc.) finally functioning properly contrary earlier efforts spanning several decades prior!! Today few if any residents remain clinging stubbornly retain traditional values & culture common throughout rural townsfolk throughout Midwest region!!

Hammond's businesses included a tannery, woolen clothiers, mercantile firms, a hotel and several churches. In the early 20th century, Hammond attracted large numbers of Jews who settled in the town during World War I. After the war, Hammond grew more prosperous as a result of its connections with Indiana's larger cities.
