The first binoculars made in America were made by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and John Fitch in 1785. These early binoculars were crude but did not have magnification capabilities. In 1824, Colonel George A. Stephens sold his interest in the Missouri Railroad to a group of investors led by Winthrop Sargent. This new company built a railroad from St. Joseph to Topeka and began selling goods including guns and other outdoor items at stations along the way. In 1829, Stephens also founded the University of Kansas which became one of the leading universities in the United States. With these new opportunities came new demand forbinoculars among people throughout El Dorado County. Binocular production continued to grow during this era with companies like Glorietta Manufacturing Company making high quality models that could be bought by anyone who wanted them. By World War II,binocular production had reached its peak with over 1 million products being produced annually across a variety of brands and styles. During this time, binocular sales increased dramatically as people began using them for more than just looking around town or studying nature! Today, binocular production continues to grow as people continueto appreciate their ability to see far beyond what they can see with their naked eyes! It is through these beautiful pieces of glass that we are able to explore our world more fully and enjoy all aspects of life more fully!

El Dorado is a small town in the US state of Kansas. It is located on the banks of the Arkansas River, about 15 miles east of Topeka and 30 miles west of Wichita. The population was 1,813 at the 2010 census. The name "El Dorado" meaning "The Golden Land" came from Spanish traders who visited this area in 1660-1665. In 1847, gold was discovered near present-day El Dorado and settlers began to arrive in large numbers. By 1869, there were more than 3,000 people living in El Dorado. The town grew rapidly due to its proximity to the railroad and other resources. In 1902, a new post office was built at El Dorado and named for John C Stroudge II, an early settler and founder of Topeka. In 1912, a school was built; it became known as Topeka Public Schools before being renamed again in 1935 as El Dorado High School after then-Governor Charles Lindbergh's daughter Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962). In 1957, when all but three townships within Topeka city limits were annexed into Wichita by Wichita County government following approval by voters in a referendum%, El Dorado became one of those three consolidated townships with its own mayor and council members responsible for all aspects of municipal governance including police services and fire protection as well as public works such as water supply and trash collection etc.). Today, EL DORADO has long been recognized as one of Wichita's most vibrant neighborhoods with many independent businesses clustered around busy Main Street while new development continues to grow nearby on East Side Avenue which houses several high tech companies such as Cisco Systems Inc., Microsoft Corporation & Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co., Towne Center Mall redevelopment project is currently under way with plans for up to 4 million sqft (approx 350 residential units) on two levels across 9 acres that will include retail/downtown business space along with hotel/motel rooms adjacent to Interstate 70/Upton Road intersection
