During World War II at least three companies – Sealey Brothers Ltd., Wiman Company Inc., & Hennepin Knife Works – produced small numbers of knifes for soldiers stationed within reach of Louisiana’s capital city. At one point Sealey Brothers had 1 plants manufacturing up to 100 different types of edged weapons including kitchenknives/spoons/pie crust cutters etc… although production ceased after 1945 due to wartime restrictions placed upon American manufacturers by allies like Germany (& Austria). In 1963 Anthony Peake opened his successful retail store at 411 Girod Street which quickly became one of the leading knife dealers in town. His extensive collection included early 20th century Japanese blades such asyotogi katana(刀剣名無し)& yatagan(よたぐさん) along with rare later European folders & single-edged swords including notable examples from Hungary & Spain etc….
