Captain Waddington's brother Major James Waddington (1771-1851) built a log cabin on what is now Main Street in 1793. Eventually many more buildings were erected along this street including two churches – First Presbyterian Church (founded in 1795) and Second Presbyterian Church (founded in 1800). The oldest existing structure still standing in Havre de Grace is the old Masonic Lodge No. 2 which was built about 1830.
