New Carrollton is a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. New Carrollton is located on the eastern edge of the county and bordered by Bowie to the north and east, Takoma Park to the southeast and Hyattsville to the south. It lies within College Park Township. The first European settlers in what would become New Carrollton were Quakers who arrived in 1781 from Pennsylvania. They built a small cabin on land that now houses Central High School. The first post office was established in 1784, and early settlers named their town after Sir John Carleton, 2nd Viscount Dunmore (1712-1793). In 1814, when Baltimore became an independent state, New Carrollton became part of Prince George's County as well. In 1827 it had a population of 350; by 1840 it had grown to 1,000 people and by 1860 it had reached 2,500 people. That same year saw one of the biggest waves of immigration to Prince George's County: over 1,200 Irish Catholics came to work on plantations near Bowie while also providing social services for new immigrants such as schools and churches. The development of businesses around transportation made New Carrollton a busy community as well: railroads connected Baltimore with Washington D.C., Delaware Bayou was developed for shipping goods between Baltimore and points farther down East Coast via Harford Creek crossings), taxis catered to wealthy residents wanting quick rides home late at night or during holidays (such as Christmas) – even vending machines dispensed candy bars from cars parked outside stores during those times! During World War II many scientists worked at Rockville Arsenal; many soldiers barracks were built there too including Friendship Barracks which housed officers’ families until 1950 when they were replaced by Camp Kilpatrick which still stands today! As Maryland entered into its own Civil Rights Movement era in the 1960s various protests took place against discrimination against African Americans living in jurisdictions other than Montgomery/Prince Georges County – starting with peaceful sit-ins at local high school lunch pails throughout central Prince George's County – culminating with Aindelphia Drilling rigs being set alight outside District Attorney Milton Shriver's home during one such protest on October 5th 1966; this sparked national headlines across America due tocarousing preachers throughout downtown Washington D.C.– making these protests much more visible than ever before! In 1969 Nixon appointees ruled that "All citizens are equal" under Title VII ofthe Civil Rights Act Amendments so busing Elementary students into nearby White Marsh would no longer be considered segregationist… however public education remains segregated through magnet schools system operated by private interests! New Carrollton experienced another major growth spurt beginning in 1990s concurrent with increased suburban development around it leading some locals to refer to themselves as “New CTonsingtonians” although most locals today identify themselves simply as “Residents” or simply “People Of [town name]” due largelyto continued non-discrimination faced everyday living conditions both inside town limits AND beyond them!!!
The history of shooting eye protection began with the use of opera glasses. In 1892, Dr. John Swayne patented a design for “safe and effective” opera glasses that protected the eyes from dust, sparks, and other projectiles. In 1934, safety goggles were developed as an answer to the problem of people being blinded by firearms smoke and heat. Today, shooting eye protection is a common practice in many industries, including law enforcement and security services. There are many different types of shooting eye protection available on the market today, but all except cockpits should be fitted with appropriate glasses to protect against debris and projectiles entering the eyes.

New Carrollton was first settled in 1795 by Scots-Irish settlers. It became an incorporated town in 1821. The town was named after the New York County seat of Carrollton, which at that time abounded in coal and other resources. The town rapidly grew, and by 1881 it had a population of over 20,000 people. In 1922, the Town of New Carrollton merged with neighboring Georgetown to form the new Borough of Georgetown. In 1938, the Borough of Georgetown dissolved and its residents were divided between New Carrollton (then part of Baltimore) and Prince George's County (then part of Washington D.C.). The boroughs were reunited in 1978 as the Borough of New Carrollton. New CarrollTON is a vibrant community located on several miles of waterfront overlooking the Potomac River from which it takes its name. In 2014, New Carrollton developed plans to merge with neighboring Arlington Heights, resulting in a population increase of over 50 percent over the next decade at an estimated cost of $2 billion.
