The history of airguns in Holyoke, Massachusetts began with the establishment of the first airgun range in the town in 1951. The range was operated by George H. Dunham and his son John. In 1957, Holyoke became the first city to pass a Municipal Ordinance regulating gun ownership and use. The ordinance mandated that all citizens must have a license to own or possess an airgun, and that any gun stored or used within the city must be registered with city officials. In 1978, Holyoke passed its first Gun Bill which made it illegal for anyone under 21 years old to purchase or own an airgun without a license from their parents or guardian. In 1984, Holyoke passed its secondGun Bill which updated ordinances governing gun possession and use within the city limits. Today, Holyoke is home to one of the largest Airgun Ranges in New England with over 100 guns available for rent on-site!
Holyoke, Massachusetts is a city in western Massachusetts on the banks of the river Amherst. The population was 58,626 at the 2010 census. Holyoke is part of the Boston metropolitan area. The first European settlers in what is now Holyoke were English Puritans who arrived in 1636 and founded a settlement called "New Plymouth." From there they wandered for years before finally settling in what is now Holyoke on April 20, 1638. It was then that they decided to name their new town after Mount Hope, an early Christian martyrdom story from England. In 1812, Holyoke became a town charter with a population of 10 people. On July 26, 1825 it became an incorporated village when all its citizens united to form one body. The next year it was reincorporated as a city under the name of "Holyoke" by act of Congress. In 1888 Holyoke voters passed a resolution seeking to make local government more responsive to local needs and desires instead of just being administered by statewide elected officials which led to the establishment of various special districts within the city limits such as Cemetery District No 1 (now Northampton), School District No 2 (now Worcester), Park District No 3 (now Springfield), Transit District No 4 (now Westfield) and Waterfront Development District No 5 (now Quincy). From 1916 until 1967 Holyoke had no mayor or City Council but instead relied upon Village trustees who functioned as both leaders and checkers-in between City Hall and residents’ concerns. In 1967 Mayor John Pappas took office after serving three terms on Village Trusteeship Committee which ultimately abolished mayoral government altogether within the City Limits effective January 1st 1968 without having ever been authorized by voter approval or even passing through committee membership! On September 12th 1969 Mayor John Pappas announced his candidacy for Mayor of Holyokes against incumbent Democrat Everett Meeks but lost handily due primarily because he could not generate enough grassroots support within his own wards! As recently as October 15th 2013 Mayor Edward J. Markey announced his intent to run for Mayor again against current incumbent Republican candidate Linda Sawaya but has yet to campaign formally unlike previous administrations where he appears frequently at public events across Greater Boston!!!

Holyoke, Massachusetts is a town in Worcester County, Massachusetts. The population was 9,711 at the 2010 census. Holyoke is one of the oldest communities in Worcester County and has been around since 1636 when it was part of the parish of Northampton. In 1824, Holyoke became a town and was named for Saint John the Divine. The first school in Holyoke was built on the site of what is now Holyoke Square. The first teacher educated students from Kindergarten through Twelve Grade School in sessions that were held each afternoons from 1784 to 1825. A new school building was erected on Main Street between Park Avenue and State Street in 1828-9 by Nicholas Appert & Company as part of a program designed to increase enrollment at present day South Hadley High School across Broadway from Trinity Church—the original plan for which had been authorized by the General Court on February 14, 1784 (1). A courthouse and jail were also built during this time period within walking distance of both churches. The Jail opened on November 12th, 1830 with six cells including one for an “inmate who cannot be placed without great inconvenience” It operated until 1834 when it was replaced by what is now West Boylston Street Jail which still stands today; its dimensions are similar to those then existing (2). Since 1830 Holyoke has been served by three newspapers: "The Republican" (1830-present), "The Constitutionalist" (1835-1849), and "The Globe" (1850-1912). In 1830 all three papers were published under one roof which united the presses used for print production at four different locations along Main Street between Park Avenue and State Streets; later these presses would be moved to Union Station where they produced all thirteen papers continuously until 1912. Today only "The Republican" remainsactive while both "The Constitutionist"and "The Globe" have long ceased publication altogether This paper reprinted entire issues starting back in 1850 before either paper went offline permanently
