One of the most famous gunfights in Michigan took place at the Battle of Benton Harbor on July 20, 1812. A force of American militia and Native Americans were fighting for control of a peninsula in the harbor. The battle ended with the Americans losing, but they left behind a bloody mess.
Benton Harbor is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 10,691 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Benton Harbor-Warren County Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit what is now Benton Harbor were French fur traders in the early 17th century, and they called it "Nimèches". In 1807, General Anthony Wayne founded the village of Fort Wayne on land that he had purchased from Chief Pontiac for $10,000 dollars. The town grew rapidly due to its strategic location at the head of navigation on the Detroit River and its connection to other settlements in what is now Warren County. By 1830, there were over 200 people living in Benton Harbor. By 1840, there were 1,500 people living in Benton Harbor and it was officially designated as a city by an act of Congress! In 1847, Augustus Woodward became Mayor of Benton Harbor and served until his death in 1865. He had been mayor since 1844 when he was elected to succeed his father as Mayor pro tempore (i.e., temporary mayor). Augustus Woodward was one of America's most influential political leaders during this time period; he played a significant role in developing Benton Harbor into one of America's leading cities. During his career as Mayor pro tempore, Woodward helped create many important landmarks within the city including: The first City Hall building constructed in America; The first Masonic Lodge established within a city limits; The first school board established within a city limits; And much more! In addition to his mayoral duties, Woodward also served on several major committees which contributed greatly to downtown development and progress throughout history! After years of growth and progress for both the city and its citizens, during World War II things began to slow down for Benton Harbour - specifically because steel production increased significantly after Nazi Germany invaded Poland in 1939 (this led directly to many layoffs for local businesses). However, during war times everything goes back up exponentially - so when peace came around 1945 things started rampsing back up again! When ready they shipped all their output outta here while we just sat here like grumpy old men... actually Grumpy Old Men isn't really accurate because we did manage some pretty nifty things like turning our harbor into one big Storage Yard which held all our scrap metal before it went officaly into storage later on... not sure if that counts or not? Anyway yeah overall I guess you could say we got through those tough times alright

It wasn’t long before other manufacturers followed suit, making different styles and sizes of target ranging from 3/8 inch (1 cm) up to 1 foot (30 cm). today’s gun targets are made from many materials including metal, plastic, fiberglass, wood, carbon fiber etc., but they all share one common goal: To provide a accurate platform upon which shooters can practice their skills while also enjoying watching others do so with enjoyment!

In 1967, Benton Harbour–Scio Township seceded from Lansing County and adopted their own name; today, they are considered an independent municipality within Michigan's third district. Despite its rapid growth over the past several decades, Benton Harbour has faced some challenges; specifically, its persistent high unemployment rates have led to widespread public discontent over2010s gentrification policies which havedriven many longtime residents out of town. However, despite these challenges,[1]bentont harbor remains an important economic engine in southeastern Michigan and remains committed to creating inclusive communities for all Its citizens
