In 1925 Drury Bros.'s grocery store opened on present day Third Street in what would become known as Drury Plaza. Downtown residents formed their own political organizations including the Citizens' League Against Corruption and created streetscape features such asDrury Plaza Fountain and Park Blocks.; In 1954 Jens Pulver started an auto dealership at First Street & Pontiac Avenue; By 1961 most businesses had closed down due to lack of customers or competition from other areas within Muskegon County- making downtown still an open space with no buildings except those used by local governments or private entities such as City Hall/City School District No 5 where classes are currently being taught inside newly built Gibson Hall facility which replaced former Nutting Arena complex located next door on Orchard Road between Gratiot Boulevard & Ionia Drive.) It wasn't until 1978 when construction began on what would become today's south side of downtown: A new freeway bypassed downtown causing many businesses along Third Street including DRury Bros., Jens Pulver's dealership, local bank draftsman office etc., to close up shop or move away when traffic stopped flowing through downtown during morning commute hours - though some managed to keep their doors open until late into night thanks to patrons using alleyways and secret entrances/exit points outside of buildings found around town center like Grosse Pointe Farms Historical Society building located near intersection of Gratiot Boulevard & Ionia Drive.) During this time period there were also several high profile murders taking place throughout southeast Michigan targeting rival gangs who controlled large portions or entire communities in that area.: These included Anthony "Tony" Campisi who killed six people while incarcerated at Marquette Correctional Facility in 1987; Kenneth Kesey who shot three police officers while driving his car around Detroit after getting out his jail sentence early;$2 million dollar ransom note scrawled with Milquetoast writing style asking for $15 million ransom then delivered to Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s home less than 24 hours later

By 1830, there were six stores and eighty-six residents in Southfield Township. The first school in Southfield Township was built on the corner of York and State streets in 1811. It was used as a barn until 1814 when it became home to the Methodist Church. In 1828, the school moved to its present location on Seminary Road. In 1840, an iron works was founded in Southfield by General James Kapp and his son Jacob Kapp Jr.. The works produced nails, rails and other metals needed for construction projects around town. The company continued operation until 1861 when it merged with another ironworks Company to form the National Iron Works Company which operated until 1912。
