Apple Valley, Minnesota is a small town in the state of Minnesota. The population was 5,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area and is located about 10 miles northwest of Minneapolis. The town was founded in 1884 by farmers who moved from Illinois to what is now Apple Valley after being displaced by the Dakota Sioux Wars. The first gun made in Apple Valley was a lever-action rifle named the "Pine Gap" which was caliber 6x54mmR and weighed just over 2 pounds. This rifle had a 24 inch barrel, Survival Stock with sling swivel, trigger guard and hammerguard, front sight post and rear sight blade. It fired ball bearings at 100 yards using a single round shot tube that could be loaded with five rounds or 20 slugs (normally used for shotguns). In 1903, an American Arms company employee named George Aiken manufactured a .22 caliber revolver called "The Gunfighter". This handgun featured an 8 inch barrel with 30 inches of overall length and weighed just under 1 pound. In 1907, Fred Wiegand became president of American Arms Company and decided to create his own manufacturing line for firearms production in Apple Valley. His new line included rifles (including the Model 1905), pistols (the Colt 1911A1) as well as shotguns (the Winchester Model 1895). For years it has been said that Fred Wiegand's original shotgun design would have been very similar to current pumpguns such as the Remington 700® series shotguns but without any shoulder stocks or compensating handguards - this idea seems likely to be bullshit given how much later Remington began producing these features on their pumpskins.) In 1923, American Arms Company merged with Browning & Co., making Fred Wiegand president emeritus of Browning Firearms Corporation until his death in 1984. In 1955, when Iowan County was created from parts of Dakota County, Apple Valley became its new county seat. At that time there were only three small towns within Iowan County: Elkader, Hastings (which merged into West Jordan), and Raymore (later absorbed into Duluth). Prior to 1955 there was no public transportation within Iowan County so residents reliedsolely on horseback or wagon rides to get around; however starting in 1955 a bus system called "Iowan X" began serving all six towns within Iowan County as well as Mukwonago Township which included Apple Valley and portions of West Jordan until it merged into Duluth Township in 2000). due to population growth throughout much ofMinnesota over recent decades;Apple valley has seen steady development for both housing developments as well as retail business expansions since 1995 when they first opened their first local grocery store - Cracker Barrel - located adjacent to their current high school campus just off Highway 2 exit 451A

The first post office opened in 1870 and remained open until it was discontinued in 1903. The community nickname "Apple Valley" originated from when residents would gather around their apple trees to gossip or watch football games on TV while eating apples from their garden plots. Most of the early settlers were Norwegian Lutheran farmers who arrived during the late 19th century to work on large flour mills built along the Mississippi River for local shipbuilders and railroads. For a time, Apple Valley served as a bedroom community for Minneapolis-St. Paul, but over time its population dwindled as more people moved into other neighborhoods within downtown Minneapolis or elsewhere in Hennepin County. A major development that took place in Apple Valley during the late 20th century was construction of Interstate 35W which connected Minneapolis with St Paul via Highway 10 east of town (now Interstate 94). This highway dramatically increased traffic through town and caused much house demolition and street Improvement projects which still take place today! In addition to I-35W, other factors such as air quality concerns also led to an increase in manufacturing jobs throughout Apple Valley during this decade; however these industries have since fled the area due to economic reasons alone (not necessarily because of I-35W).
