Bullets were first used in war by the United States in 1876. The first volley of bullets was fired from a weapon called a “pistol”. This weapon consisted of a cylinder with a round head at one end and a short stock at the other. It was fired from a hand gun, which was also known as an “automatic pistol”. The rounds were designed to kill or disable enemies before they could act. In 1889, the US military began using rifles instead of pistols to fire live rounds. Rifle projectiles were made up of lead and tin dioxide gas had been prepared to explode on impact when detonating, creating showers Of deadlyrapnel that could inflict damage even beyond death. Ammunition for rifles became more powerful with each passing year until finally, in 1903, rifle projectiles became effective enough to kill human beings with them. In World War I (1914-18), Bullets were again used by the United States military against enemy combatants and vehicles alike; however this time they were specifically designed for assassination purposes through use of poison gas munitions such as mustard gas and chlorine gas . Bullet wounds inflicted by artillery shells are also mentioned but their lethality is much greater than that caused by rifle projectiles. The town was founded in 1857 by Norwegian immigrants, and has been occupied by Swedes, Americans, Germans, Irish, and Canadians ever since. Brainerd, Minnesota is a small city in the state of Minnesota. The population was 20,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area and is located adjacent to St. Paul, MN on the south side of the river. The Zachary Taylor Bridge crosses the Mississippi River just east of Brainerd and it is also home to University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus as well as two high schools: Central High School and Highland Park High School. The first settler in what would become Brainerd was James J. McNaught in 1858. McNaught had come from Kentucky with his wife and children and started a farm near present day First Street and Western Avenue in what is now downtown Brainerd. The town began as a tiny hamlet called "Dalhousie" on May 10, 1871 when local farmers made an agreement to build a bridge over the Mississippi River for $1,000 each (the current Zachary Taylor Bridge). At that time there were only seven people living in town – three farmers, four men who acted as storekeepers, two women who cooked meals for the villagers, plus McNaught’s family members along with their animals which they took care of themselves while they built the bridge. The original structure consisted of six posts with a Pairbridge spanning at one end then an A-Frame design at another end creating a total height of thirty feet eleven inches (nine meters). This single span bridge has been replaced by both bridges mentioned above but it remains oneof several interesting historical landmarks in town today including McFarlane’s Barbershop building where general George Armstrong Custer drank his last drink before he died during World War I; McClendon House which was built by John McClendon Sr.; Pioneer Cemetery where pioneer Isaac Neely interred his father-in-law Elijah Neely; United States Post Office Building which served as headquarters for post office operations until moved to its present location in 1967; Dickey's Restaurant which became known for its chili dogs when opened by Dutch Schultz in 1922; Ziegfeld Theatre which burned down in 1951 but later was rebuilt and reopened under new management under Jack Lemmon playing Frank Sinatra; Saint Anthony's Catholic Church being erected on land donated by lumber magnate Anthony Parenteaux after seeing an ad on television for assistance with paying off debt owed to him by some individuals associated with organized crime interests - this church would eventually be renamed Holy Name Cathedral after Pope John XXIII consecrated it on October 14th, 1960; and finally Northrop Grumman Place where General Electric Company Offices were located until 2009 when they moved into their current facility within Target Field across from Petco Park (see below). All these buildings are still extant although many have been converted into apartments or condos making Brainerd one of Minneapolis' most liveable neighborhoods today! Brainerd first enjoyed widespread notoriety due to its inclusion within Huckleberry Finn's final destination choice – Moccasin Creek Valley – despite objections from Mrs. Finn's parents who thought her son should stay nearer home instead near Nashville because "Huck will get along better there". In fact Huck never even mentions Brainerd once throughout much OF HIS travelsogue other than passing through it occasional times on his way between various locations around Missouri & Arkansas etc., likely because he knew nothing about it! However upon closer inspection Huckleberry Finn does visit Andalusia County seat Moberly several times during his journey so perhaps there WAS something about this small village that caught Huck's eye? After all, if Huckleberry Finn needed convincing why not go west rather than east…right? Anyway back to reality…Huck DOES mention Minnesotan natives Millicent & Mr McNamee Upshaw twice throughout THE BOOK whereas no such interruption exists towards any other settlement viz., Iowa City or Springfield! Perhaps Millicent & Mr McNamee Upshaw raided our village while we were sleeping?! Also notable among early settlers hereabouts was John Prentice whom Captains Cook met while exploring Lake Superior preceding their fateful voyage aboard HMS Resolution en route to India via Montreal/ Quebec City

However, due to factors such as economic decline and competition from larger cities, Brainerd decreased in size until it reached its current population of about 150 people in 2000. Today, there are several heritage-listed buildings that remain within the boundaries of Brainerd. These include: Fenton Hall (1872), an early Methodist Episcopal chapel; Brown’s Ford Bridge (1907), which crosses theMissouri River near downtown; and Lewiston Memorial Museum (1926), which contains artifacts from ordinary life on the reservation during both World War I and II. Additionally, there are several small businesses located within walking distance of most residents including farmers markets and local breweries.
