In the late 1800s, two brothers, James and John Baumgartner, founded a business in Oakdale that would be known as The Binocular Company. The company was started to provide customers with quality binoculars at affordable prices. In 1952, The Binocular Company was renamed the Baumgartner-O’Brien Corporation and continued to operate until 1984. During its time as Baumgartner-O’Brien Corporation, The Binocular Company produced some of the world's most popular binoculars. Some of these famous binoculars include the Baumgartner-O'Brien Classic models andBaumerger Spectrorama/Elmer spectacles. The first successful production run of a widespread model of an eyeglasses frame called the "Binoclear" took place in 1908. This innovative design allowed users to see clearly even when their eyes were closed due to its use of lenses that focused on both near and far objects simultaneously. The popularity of binoculars led to their inclusion in military units throughout World War I and II. After World War II, sales of binoculars increased as people began using them for more common purposes such as watching sports matches and movies. In 1951, The Binomial Optics Co., Inc., which later became bankrupted in 1995, introduced a new type ofbinocular designed specifically for astronomical observation which is still in use today - the Celestron GEM2 telescope mountable eyeglasses! These eyeglasses were later developed into what is now known as Celestron telescopes! Eventually, over time people discovered that they could also enjoy looking through binoculars for fun activities such as birdwatching or sky surveys. As people became more interested in usingbinoclones for more than just everyday observations, manufacturers responded by producing larger models with better optics and features than ever before. Oakdale is a small town in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The population was 7,787 at the 2000 census and 8,527 as of 2010. It is located in Ramsey County on the banks of the Mississippi River. The village was founded in 1881 by settlers from Norway who had come to the area for farming purposes. The name "Oakdale" comes from an oak tree that graced the original site of the community. In 1907, Oakdale became a city and retains its downtown core today with a mix of commercial and residential uses including two shopping malls, three restaurants, and four bars/resorts as well as several churches and government buildings. In recent years, Oakdale has become known for its arts scene which includes both local music events and touring artists such as multi-instrumentalist Steeleye Span and pianist Lorena Bobbitt. One significant aspect of Oakdale's history is its role in helping to create America's first oil refinery - Northwestern Pipe Line Refinery - which opened in 1901. The refinery processed crude oil until it was refined into gasoline and other products by American Petroleum Company (APC) into which Minneapolis Gaslight Companies leased space until 1978 when it merged with American Electric Power to form MinnesotaPower Corporation (MPC). MPC continues to operate through MN Power Holdings LLC today under various corporate names including Xcel Energy Holdings Inc., MPR Properties Trust LP, Des Moines Utilities Holding Company LLC, Iowa Utilities Regulatory Commission Services Division II LLC, Quad Cities Generation Co., Inc., Illinois Transmission Authority subsidiaries Midwest Generation Services Partnership LLC subsidiary Illinois Transmission Agreement Company I & IL&I LP subsidiary Midwest Transmission Pipeline Consortium II LP subsidiary Illinois Transmission Pipeline Consortium III LP subsidiary Gulf Coast Pipeline Partners LLP company Gulf Coast Pipelines USA Incorporated Today’s parent company is Pepco Corporation – one ofAmerica’s largest energy providers

Oakdale is a small town in northeastern Minnesota, United States. The population was 915 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Rochester-Mankato, MN Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now Oakdale was Hennepin County sheriff Amos Brown in 1855. He and his wife, Fannie, founded a small farm on the east side of town in 1858. In 1865, when Minneapolis was incorporated as a city, Brown moved to Rochester and bought land there; he named his new community "Oakdale" after the Oaks near his old home in Hennepin County. The townsite was laid out by commissioners from Minneapolis on July 3, 1865. By 1870, Oakdale had a population of 100 residents and consisted of just three buildings: the courthouse (now used as a library), an agricultural store run by David Hilbert, and Mrs. Hilbert's house (now occupied by the Masonic Lodge). A post office called Oakdale was established in 1875, and remained open until it closed in 1907. During that time period, mail went only between Rochester and Mankato; no other cities or towns received mail from here. In 1898–99 two school districts were created within Mankato Township; one for “colored” children up to age 16 living within five miles of either end of town (the white districts were Centerville School District #1 on the east side of town) and one for “white” children living within 10 miles of either end (the black districts were White Earth School District #2 on the west side). Because all but one slaveholder had died by 1900 – free blacks George Washington Downing Jr., James McNulty Sr., John Goodwin – enrolling white students into these schools became impossible without hiring many teachers beyond what any individual family could afford or finding space outside their homes for classrooms/ libraries/atoriums etc.; this also meant increased social tensions which can be seen manifested during riots started by Black students against whites that broke out throughout summer 1999 inside Centerville/White Earth Schools over perceived unequal treatment including lack of recess/NO TV&no extracurricular opportunities for African Americans compared to their respective Caucasian classmates In 1902 Prairie Teachers Union Local 8 applied for state funding to build 4 new elementary schools so that more rural poor kids could receive some form education & hope towards better lives away from corruptible criminal elements inhabiting their neighborhoods; however because 1st district headmaster Julius Rosenwald refused to fund such projects due to political correctness then true education reformers began pushing hard with Governor Jesse Ventura finally relenting following public outcry not just caused by Prairie Teachers Union locals but also wealthy parents like oil magnate Philanthropist Warren Buffet who contributed millions dollars lobbying Ventura); thus Oakdale Elementary continued serving its current students until 1984 when 2nd district headmaster Sallie Mae Weems decided instead to build her own private school much like her predecessors before her which soon became known as North ParkElementary which still serves today’s students despite being almost 40 years old!
In 1851, the town of Oakdale was organized. It was named for General James K. Polk, who had been president at the time. The first store in town was built on what is now Fourth Street. In 1871, the first school in town opened. The first post office in town was established in 1872.
