Multi tool history is a long and involved journey. Multi tool tools have been used for many purposes throughout human history. From basic farming tools to industrial implements, multi tool tools are essential for any job or activity. The first multi tool was probably a Stone Age implement made from stone, bone, or antler. By the Middle Ages, there were numerous options available for craftsmen to buy different types of multi-tools such as swords, hammers, saws and chisels. The development of hand Tools during the 18th century led to new technologies in metalworking which allowed for the creation of complex machines such as geared crankshafts and Stephenson’s Rocket engine technology. These advancements spawned a new era in American industry where engineers could create intricate machines that required more than one tool to do the job correctly. In recent times many people have adopted the trend of carrying multiple tools with them on all occasions in order to improve their productivity and efficiency when working with various tasks; however this has not gone unchallenged by traditionalists who maintain that only one type of tool is best suited for every task performed (i.e., A hammer is better suited for building). It should be noted that while some people may feel that having multiple tools improves productivity they also realize that it can be difficult to keep track of all of them at once if needed and prefer having one primary tool(s) responsible for most tasks/jobs.
