On October 26th of 1860 (the day after Abraham Lincoln was elected US President) Village voters adopted an ordinance authorizing school trustees to open public schools within Village limits once per week during term times - this program continued until School District No./Village Consolidation took effect on September 15th of 1966! On January 3rd 1865 (just one month after Abraham Lincoln's assassination) Henry Ford founded Ford Motor Company here in what would eventually become Dearborn Heights - this event helped shape much of today's definition for an American city! For years prior to World War II much agricultural production took place here including corn, wheat and cattle farming; however after 1945 these activities slowly decreased due mainly to numerous technological advances which made agriculture less important nationally/internationally although some farmers still produce crops such as soybeans and corn

Development began rapidly around 1840 when Alex Haley platted what would become Park Hill Township northeast corner current state highway 44 & Stone Lane & 1 mile wide Frontage Rd.
