Grandview, Missouri rifle stocks history began with the arrival of the pioneers in the area in 1821. The first rifles that were brought to Grandview were made by John S. Dixon and his son, Jesse Dixon. The first post office in Grandview was established in 1825. In 1827, Amos Eaton opened a store at 5th and Market Streets. A year later, James Hodge opened a store on the north side of town. By 1830, there were several stores located throughout Grandview. In 1834, Colonel Samuel J. Cooke bought land adjacent to present-day Grandview from Moses Chilton for $2,500 cash. Colonel Cooke began building a sawmill on his property which he named "The Grove." This mill became one of the largest in Missouri and it continued operation until 1911. In 1840, William Minton acquired title to all of present-day Stoney Creek Township from Michael Chilton for $200 cash. Minton built a house on this township farm which is still standing today. By 1845, there were over 20 businesses operating within Stoney Creek Township alone! In 1861, Confederate General Sterling Price invaded Missouri and moved into central Missouri near Rolla with 3 Companies of Cavalry under his command (20 cavalry troopers). On July 7th grand jury indictments were returned against General Price stating that he had violated neutrality laws by invading our state; however no charges or arrests took place as a result of this invasion! On December 12th 1863 George Washington Halliday surrendered at Fayetteville MO after leading an attack against Union Brigadier General Gideon Welles’s forces while encamped near Warsaw JunctionMO - resulting in over 100 casualties including Halliday himself! One hundred years later on November 9th 1978 another grand jury indictment was returned against then Vice President Richard Cheney for allegedly violating neutrality laws when engaging military forces abroad without Congressional authorization! No charges or arrests ever came about as a result of this investigation...
Grandview is a small town in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 3,362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis–Saint Joseph metropolitan area. Grandview is located on the east side of the city of St. Louis and north of I-70 exit 16A. The first settler in what would become Grandview was James Masons who arrived on July 26, 1822 from Maryland with his family. James and his wife Mary founded a log cabin near what is now Grandview Park after traveling for three days by horse AND wagon to find a place to live and farm their land that had been donated by General David Dixon, who had come overland from Illinois as an army officer under General Winfield Scott during the Mexican-American War (1846-48). In 1827, John Mollenbeck purchased 640 acres (2 km²) of land west of present day GrandVIEW Elementary School from James Mason for $5 per acre ($/acre). This land included most of present day GrandVIEW Manor which also includes much of what are now known as Maplewood and Elmhurst neighborhoods south of Interstate 70. When Mollenbeck died in 1829, his widow sold all but about 20 acres (8 km²) back to Mollenbeck's heirs for $10 per acre ($/acre). In 1870 Nathanial Goode donated 320 acres (12 km²) northwest of present day GrandVIEW Elementary School to form Goode Meadows which today encompasses much of Back Bay neighborhood east sideof I-70 exit 164A and parts off Cedar Lawn subdivision just southfoward Olive Branch Road between Olive Branch Rd./I-70 exit 164A & US 6 Alternate/Route 66 Alternate

Grandview is named for George Washington Carver, who settled there in 1881. The first school was erected in 1841 by Mrs. Mary Hutton with funds donated by Colonel Ebenezer Higgins of Lebanon County It soon became apparent that education in this new community would be essential for its future growth; so Drury House Academy (now Goshen College) was founded two years later with $1,500 from local millionaire Levi Lewis Stephenson In 1865, Reverend Wm Clements published his influential book Geography: A New Perspective which influenced many people throughout America including Abraham Lincoln In 1870 Charles Dickens paid a visit to Grandview and enjoyed much of what he saw before leaving for England five weeks later without taking any photos or writing anything down On October 12th 1870 while sitting inside his own home reading one of his novels written while he lounged around London via letterpress printing services provided him by Rufus King & Brothers printers just outside Westminster Bridge he noticed movement outside window then quickly got up getting ready to close door after looking out only to see man walking rapidly away
The first known permanent European settlement in what is now Grandview, Missouri was a French fur trading post established by Pierre Laclède and his brother, Jean-Baptiste Laclède, on the north bank of the Kaskaskia River in 1779. The site was abandoned after a few years due to the disruption of Native American raids. In 1812, General John C. Fremont discovered gold near present-day Grandview while exploring for a new route to California. After realizing the potential for gold mining in this area, he founded the Cheyenne and Arapaho Agency here in 1813 as part of his attempt to open up these lands to white settlement. The agency continued operation until1846 when it was replaced by the Ulysses S. Grant Land Office under President James K. Polk. During World War I (1914–1918), Grandview played an important role as an airfield and supply station for military operations in both America and Europe. In addition, Grandview served as home to many civilians who were employed in various munitions plants located nearby during World War I including Kaiser Aluminum Works and Bethlehem Steel Corporation’s Willow Grove Arsenal munitions plant which produced shells used in World War I and II respectively
