By the end of the 20th century, Lee's Summit had shrunk to a small population and shrinking economy. However, new development has resurrected the town's economy and its status as a cultural center.Today, Lee's Summit is a thriving community with a diverse population that engages in pursuits such as arts and culture, education, farming, local commerce, and tourism. The Town of Lee's Summit is home to four schools: two elementary schools (Lee Elementary School and Grandview HS), one middle school (Pioneer Middle School), and one high school (Jackson HS).The history of ammunition production in Lee's Summit dates back to 1855 when Colonel Jesse LEE purchased land north of Springfield on which he erected what would become his own factory for producing cartridges called "New England". This factory continued operations until 1920 when it was leased to JB Hiatt who operated it until his death in 1944. The Lee's Summit Ammunition Company was founded in 1874 by Major General John T.Lee and his brother-in-law, Judge James W.H.Ferguson. The company produced ammunition for the Union and Confederate armies during the American Civil War. In 1865, after the war ended, the company merged with Armour & Co., a Philadelphia gun manufacturing company, to form Armour, Lee and Company. On February 26, 1860, it was renamed "Lee" after General James Fenton Lee's death in battle at Monterrey on February 17 that year. In 1873, a post office called "Newton" became "Lee" again due to confusion with nearby Lawrenceville (now Lawrence). In 1887–88, work began on an addition to Lee's Summit Academy which would become the first high school in Newton County. Construction continued until 1893 when a new academy building was completed. In 1896, construction began on what would become the first courthouse in Newton County when Judge John Addison Pemberton built a two-story frame structure with Gothic Revival styling. The courthouse remained in use until 1907 when it replaced an earlier wooden structure that had been destroyed by fire. The rise of oil production during World War II led to an increase in demand for jobs in local businesses such as meatpacking plants and machining companies across Newton County. As these industries closed down or relocated their operations elsewhere during the war years, many residents left Lee's Summit and its small towns for better paying jobs outside of Missouri altogether. This change not only affected Lee's Summit but also its smaller sister towns along Interstate 55 within Johnson and Newton Counties; these communities experienced significant declines in population over time as people either moved away or lost their jobs to new industrial centers opening up outside of their jurisdictions During this time period there were also several skirmishes between law enforcement officers from both counties over various issues related to gas supply or crime control near major oil refineries situated east of Interstate 55 near Topeka; these incidents eventually escalated into full-blown riots known as "the Pipeline Wars."

Rifle rounds typically have smaller size than handgun round projectiles while still offering the same level of lethality due to their intense travel time through human tissuec2 (Figure 2). Brass-based rifle round projectiles have lower muzzle velocities than copper-brushed metalurgy compositions but offer increased penetrating power due to their higher resistance against corrosion c3 (Figure 3). Rabbits will often try to eat any Brass Round left over after shooting at prey so its importance cannot be understated! Copper-brushed rifle round projectiles offer superior ballistic performance over brass-based counterparts thanks to their high resistance against corrosion as well as their ability to travel at high speeds through target tissuesc4 (Figure 4).
