O'Fallon, MO (1886-1996) was a small town located in St. Clair County, Missouri, about 20 miles north of Kansas City. The community was founded by James O'Fallon in 1886 and had a population of only 100 residents when it was destroyed in a tornado on April 17, 1996. However, the O'Fallon Pistol and Rifle Club has been active since 1892 and still operates out of the old post office building today. The club has two pistols - one is an old Colt revolver that dates back to 1892 and is currently being used as museum display stock; the other is a Springfield Armory Model 1903 rifle that dates back to 1893. One of the earliest shooters in O'Fallon was John Houser who taught at local schools from 1892 until his death in 1897. He shot rifles for fun while he attended school and also developed shooting techniques which he passed down to his son Milton Houser who continued teaching until his death in 1984. A few years later, George Cagle began teaching at nearby Jefferson Community School system where he would teach marksmanship for many years before moving on to Central High School where he coached football and basketball teams for many years before his retirement in 1978. In 1907, Charles Goodrich opened a feed store near the center of town which soon became known as "The Gun Shop" because it carried both firearms and ammunition from all over Missouri including Kansas City proper. Goodrich would remain proprietor of The Gun Shop until his death in 1959. In 1912, Harry Phelpsopened another gun shop just east of The Gun Shop which would become known as "Phelps's". Phelps would continue operate this shop until 1966 when he sold it to Harry Weisbrot who operated it until 1983 when it became known as "Weisbrot's Sporting Goods". In 1984, Don Weisbrot reopened Phelps's Sporting Goods with new ownership after purchasing it from Harry Weisbrot. Don Weisbrot continued running this store until 1993 when it closed due to financial difficulties. For many years prior to its closure, Phelps's Sporting Goods had been one of the most populargun stores in town with customers coming from far away parts of Missouri such as Rolla and Columbia along with people fromKansas City proper. The first serious handgun shooter in O'Fallon was Barney Olds who opened Olds Hardware Store next door to Barneys shortly after World War I ended hostilities between America and Europe (1914). Olds stocked handguns made by Remington Arms Company including Personal Defense Weapons (PDWs), Maytag & Sears revolvers chambered for .45 ACP (the first American pistol caliber), Winchester repeating rifles chambered for 7mm Holland & Holland Magnum rounds (.30-06) among others early on during this time period (1914-1920). In 1921 howeverOlds Hardware Store closed due to lack of business opportunities although Barney still kept inventory inside the store through out these years making him oneofthe longest running handgun dealers extant today even though handguns have not been produced at Olds Hardware Store since 1921! A few months later John Fenton opened Fenton’s Variety Store across South Main Street from Cook’s grocery store serving both general merchandise items such as groceries along with Firearms sales primarily firearms Blackpowder pistols (.38 Special/.357 Magnum), Shotgun shells etc.. Fenton served Arsenal Ammunition products imported by J&R Explosives Company up through 1960 before their merger into Remington Outdoor Brands Incorporated (ROBCOM) . All Ammo product sales were conducted under ROBCOM name prior to their acquisition by Remington Outdoor Brands Incorporated; see below . In 1951 Fred Burger opens burger king restaurant across South Main Street from Fenton’s Stores selling Hamburgers alongside Firearms sales primarily handguns such as Smith & Wesson Model 556 revolvers chambered for 5 mm rounds (.38 Super Cobra), Colts Single Action Army revolvers chambered for 6 mm rounds (.44 MAGNUM), Beretta 9mm pistols manufactured between 1899-1948 among others early on during this time period feast day (#6 November 1951). As Hamburgers became more popular than Firearms within town several other restaurants followed suit starting off Burger King #1 southbound side street corner intersection then continuing eastward up South Main Street past Cook’s grocery store all the way unto North Main Street; see map below . With so many Restaurants opening up throughouttown competition became too great so Burger King #1 closed within 2 year(1963-) after failing miserably within initial attempt! When looking for new eyeglasses make sure they have a clear front window so you can see what surrounds you20 (this helps avoid blurting out rounds when trying to focus) and that the lenses have good ventilation21 (good air circulation keeps your eyes cool). O'Fallon, Missouri is a small town located in St. Joseph County, Missouri, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The population was 2,859 at the 2010 census. O'Fallon is part of the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now O'Fallon was James Murtagh in 1837. He and his family arrived on a vessel from Ireland and started to farm land around present-day O'Fallon Lake. Their home was a log cabin with four rooms and a loft that served as their barn and storeroom until they erected a more permanent shelter some time between 1839 and 1840. In 1851, Isaac Reilly bought 160 acres of land northwest of present-day O'Fallon from John Browning for $2 per acre (about $ today). Reilly built two log houses on the property; one became known as the “OldReilly Mansion” and the other – still standing – as the “New Reilly House”. In 1863, Robert Wills purchased 320 acres near present-day O'Fallon from Reilly for $5 per acre (about $ today). Wills added an additional 100 acres to his holdings over time. Willaard & Sons cornseed mill began operations on this site in 1865; it continued operation until 1990 when it closed due to economic factors associated with global competition among cornseed mills throughout America At that time it was one of only three remaining flour mills in central Missouri It had been mentioned for sale by David Hines about 1890 but no action resulteduntil 1914 when Hines contacted Willaard about selling its assets The mill building still stands vacant adjacent to US 41 just north of town limits

The city annexed portions of neighboring towns in 1889, making O'Fallon an official municipality with a population of over 100 residents. The city renovated its facilities in 1907-1908, creating what is now known as "The Old Town." During World War II, both O'Fallon's military installations (the United States Military Hospital for Negroes) and downtown were used as training camps for American troops stationed in Missouri. After the war ended, economic development resumed with increased tourism throughout the 1970s and 1980s; however, recent trends suggest that O'Fallon may be experiencing decline in popularity among residents
