In 1938, the Overland Rifle and Pistol Club was formed in Overland, Missouri. The original goal of the club was to improve shooting skills by practicing at local ranges. In 1940, the NRA began sponsoring a rifle and pistol competition in Overland that continues to this day. The first airguns were imported into Overland from Illinois in 1945. By 1949, there were over 100 members of the club. That year, the club started hosting its own exhibitions and tournaments throughout the year. In 1951, they organized their own annual convention which featured exhibits from all over Missouri as well as international exhibitors. In 1957, the club became a member of the NRA. That same year saw the introduction of airguns into military arsenals across America for use by soldiers and marines stationed abroad. In 1969-1970,club members hosted their second annual convention which again attracted international exhibitors from all over America as well as Springfield Armory in Springfield, Missouri who exhibited new products for airguns then still under development. In 1978-1979,the club held their third annual convention which drew attention to new airgun designs being developed by various manufacturers including Rossi and Sig Sauer among others. This event also marked the beginning of what would become an long history of success for Overland Rifle & Pistol Club with continuing innovation in airguns technology
Overland is a small town located in St. Francois County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,412 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first residents of Overland were settlers who arrived in 1834 from Illinois. They named their community "Overland" for the overland route that crossed through their land. Today, Overland is a thriving community with a diverse population and economy that supports several businesses and enjoys good public schools and infrastructure. The history of Overland goes back to 1834 when three groups of pioneers traveled west on the Missouri Pacific Railroad from Illinois to Kansas City. One group made camp on an Indian farm where they remained until early September 1834 when they left for Independence, Missouri. Their leader was John Hodge Sr., who had come east in search of land grants and mineral rights near Kansas City. The other two groups - one led by Captain James Wirth and one by Captain George Aiken - arrived at Independence on October 9th and joined Hodge's party as it left for Kansas City to continue its journey westward into what are now Nebraska Territory (now Oklahoma). At Independence, the group split up due to differences in opinion about where they should head next: Wirth went north along the Arkansas River while Aiken followed the Platte River south to Fort Riley before turning back due to harsh weather conditions at Topeka Hills (present-day Wichita Falls, Texas). On November 5th, after reaching Wichita Falls late Saturday night following a difficult journey through snowstorms that closed portions of both rivers, Aiken's party discovered gold ore worth $8 per ton near Whatcom Springs (modern day Cedar Rapids). This discovery sparked speculation among those traveling west about whether or not Gold Rush Era prospectors had found new sources of Reward currency just beyond our current state line! Governor Thomas six weeks later announced that $2 million in gold coins would be offered for this discovery – evidence which has long been cited as one reason why Overlands emergence as a successful town took place during this time period! After arriving at Wichita Falls late Saturday night on November 5th from his separate exploration trip northeast via Red Earth Creek crossings into present day Dodge County (!), Captain George Aiken encounteredizzard conditions so severe he decided against going any further east until morningrain allowed him safe passage across RedEarth Creek onto US 66 near Mount Carmel Junction; finally making it all the way safely home without encountering any colder weather! In 1836 four more families moved into Overlanders from nearby Decatur County: Green family, White family, Sims family & Frantz family – all renamed themselves Newton after General David Newton who served as Ulysses S Grant’s military advisor during the Mexican War era (&1846-1847) & then became governor of Missouri under President James K Polk.] In 1840 another group settled here including Smith brothers Isaac Dickson (1819-1892) & Lorenzo Dickson (1820-1904)]. In 1845 local farmers started raising beef cattle which became popular with city dwellers because there wasn't enough feed available outstate] According to 2000 Census data, 2% (.07%)of Overlanders identify themselves as Native American ancestors1]. As overlanders have grown increasingly constituted within various cultures throughout America it has become increasingly difficult toget an accurate overview or snapshot about them or their culture given societal norms/bias+. For example although Native Americans make up only 2% (.07%)of Overlander identity*, most people view them primarily through cultural perspective* rather than ethnicity* because these people occupy relatively peripheral positions within society*. Consequently biases/discrimination towards Native Americans can exist even if individuals do not self identify as such*, resulting in negative perceptions overall towards Native Americans living within our society*. Furthermore *due largely to historical factors*, many native americans living today still experience increased levels of poverty*& domestic violence*& poverty *despite recent efforts by government officials†>. Nevertheless despite these challenges various organizations** like "Our Tribe", "Native American Congress", "National Chiefs' Council" **continue working diligently towards improving relations between natives & nonnatives†]. Despite some challenges we feel confident that future generations will grow more aware about their unique history and attempts thereto.. Overall we believe that research projects such as this one provide essential insights into understanding how race affects social dynamics & interactions within communities thereby facilitating positive change‡

Overland is a town in eastern Missouri, United States. The population was 1,532 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-area Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded by John Overland and his brother James on a small farmstead near what is now Northaven in 1836. They named their new community after the then-new Overland Trail that linked Harper's Ferry with St. Louis. In 1840, Overland became a seat of judicial district 2 within theory but it would later be moved to Springfield due to growing population and infrastructure demands there. In 1846, Overland elected its first mayor, Jno Hickey. In 1865 the area north of I-435 was annexed by Springfield as part of an effort to increase its population while maintaining rural character; this annexation met with resistance from some residents who saw it as taking away their land without giving anything back in return. Some early members of the town include Wm Hickey (Mayor 1865-1868), Simeon Sprague (First Tenant 1870), Averill Ball (Organist 1872-1875), Charles Fenton (Carpenter 1886-1900) and Phebe Laughlin (Dentist 1907). Many businesses were established in Overland during its early years such as Cattleman & Weaver Mills which still exists today and Dry Goods store built in 1896 which still operates. There were also schools such as Higgins School opened in 1870, First Presbyterian Church erected in 1876 and Union Academy for Girls which opened in 1903 before being closed down in 1955 due to budget cutsbacks by school board member Edwin "Ed" Smith Sr.. In 1916 a dam across I-435 was completed allowing irrigation for agriculture until 1978 when it reverted back to single use agricultural water resources; over time much more development has occurred including commercial growth including an online shopping mall that opened up adjacent to First Presbyterian Church called Gateway Mall which has since been replaced by a Walmart Supercenter complex known locally as Walmart Center although there are still few visible traces remaining of that original building despite plans underway for redevelopment according to current village administrator Kathy Herring.. Most recently many homes have been constructed along Interstate 435 between I-435 Business Street south eastward past Walmart Center and US 41 just west of Interstate 435 exit 9 making it one large housing subdivision known as Midtown Crossing although much work remainsto prevent any negative impacts from ensuing development especially if plans call for higher densities than currently allowed on local property particular inside Walmart Center itself given existing traffic issues already existing there..
