In recent years Belleville has seen significant development with new businesses opening up such as Home Depot, Lowes, Sears & Roebuck, KFC/McDonalds restaurants etc., while old businesses have closed down such as Joes Barber Shop (closed in 2006), Curly's Pizza (closed in 2000), Granny Smith’s grocery store (closed in 2002) among others.
