Town And Country, Missouri is a small town in St. Francois County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,912 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The first rifle to be used in combat in America was an American Rifleman's Model 1873 " Town And Country" Sharpshooter rifle that was made by George A. Smith and Company on November 3rd, 1871 during the American Civil War. This rifle had a 6-round magazine and could fire either shot or ball ammunition. In 1903, Winchester Arms Corporation began making rifles known as Winchester Model 700s chambered for both single shot and metallic cartridges such as .270 Win., 7mm Remington Magnum and .30-06 Springfield rounds respectively. These new rifles were designed with military snipers in mind and featured adjustable stock sights, side folding bipods, 30 round magazines (with eventually up to 64 rounds), rubber recoil pads/shocks and a crossbolt safety system that only worked when the trigger guard was held down while firing semi-automatic mode. In 1902, Towneville (later renamed Towne) annexed what are now Webster and Overton counties; it became a separate municipality with its own government but shared several amenities with neighboring Towneville including fire protection, schools, public library, hospital and jail facilities In 1912-13, when Moberly Township merged into Webster County to form new county boundaries - which included most of present-day Webster - both towns agreed to maintain their separate governments until such time as they could be unified under one administration On July 16th 1913 voters in both Towns passed an ordinance creating a consolidated government known as "The People's Government" which lasted until 1933 when it was replaced by MO State Gov't

Town And Country, Missouri is a town in Johnson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,567 at the 2010 census. The community was named after the Town of Ennis in Ireland. The first settler in Town And Country was James A. Berry who arrived on May 25, 1836. He and his family built a cabin near present-day US-441 and US-50 to await land grants that would be issued to them by the United States government. On November 15, 1838, James A. Berry's brother Daniel moved from Maryland with his family to what is now Town And Country and purchased 640 acres (2 km²) of land from John Doherty for $100 dollars cash. On July 17, 1860, Abraham Lincoln made an address to the people of Town And Country about the upcoming Civil War which mentioned that "the brave men of our village are willing and anxious to fight for their country." Many residents had served in the Union army during the Mexican–American War or were veteran citizens who had returned home and resumed their roles as farmers and ranchers early in the war. After Lincoln’s speech, many residents came out into the streets to swear allegiance to President Lincoln on July 26th on a platform built above one of their homes. One particular event that has been associated with Town AndCountry is its role as host city for both America’s Cup Races (1954 - 1964) and Formula One Race (1996). From 1954 through 1964 both races took place at Long Beach Harbor before moving temporarily to nearby Santa Monica Pier until more suitable facilities could be found at then-known Long Beach Naval Shipyard east of City Park before returning back home for America’s Cup Races again in 1966 & 1998 respectively; however America’s Cup Racing never truly left any lasting marks within this small enclave within Johnson County just outside St Louis / Kalamazoo area known as California Harbor Marina due primarily because all 3 events were held simultaneously at Laguna Seca Racetrack/Auromere synthetic track located adjacent/just southwest of downtown Los Angeles County when it opened its doors exclusively as an international racetrack specifically designed & constructed only for World Championship car racing activities such as worldwide drag racing championships etc.. In 1996 F1 Race took place once again but this time it moved permanently over from Long Beach Harbor Raceway across Ventura Boulevard into newly constructed California Speedway off Bel Air Road located adjacent & immediately southwest of Brentwood Village while still using formerly usedring facility located adjacent & immediately north side of Laughlin Technical Center which housed racecars manufactured by Carroll Shelby Corporation ever since 1950 ..(and incidentally remains one of most popular open air sports venues throughout Southern California today also hosting NCAA Men's Basketball games during regular season months although arena has been leased by LA Clippers basketball team currently.))
