Gun security history in Wildwood, Missouri began with the Pistolero Pistol Club. The club was organized in 1892 and met at the home of Mrs. John A. Fenton. The club was made up of men who were interested in self-defense and wanted to protect their firearms from theft or vandalism. In 1903, the club changed its name to the Wildwood Gun Club and started meeting at the old post office on Main Street. In 1912, a new gunsmith shop was built on Main Street adjacent to the old post office. This shop became known as the Wildwood Armory and continued serving as such until it closed in 1984. The first National Rifle Association (NA) convention took place in Wildwood in 1896. At this convention, representatives from twenty-six states participated and approved a resolution that called for an organization of state associations similar to that which exists today within the NRA. The next year saw another NA convention take place in Wildwood and this time there were only thirteen delegates present from Missouri because that state had not yet joined the association yet! It wasn’t until 1917 when Missouri finally ratified an amendment to the National Firearms Act establishing a statewide membership program for firearms dealers! In 1934, two years after President Franklin D Roosevelt signed into law Federal Firearms License No. 6810 which allowed residents of any U S city with a population over 10,000 to possess handguns without having a license! This event marked perhaps one of the most important steps forward for gun security since it legitimized handgun ownership by civilians outside of military or law enforcement circles! 1974 saw another major event when eighteen Americans were killed while attending a game of airsoft football at an amusement park near St Charles, Missouri! Gun control advocates reacted angrily against this tragedy considering it one more example of how children could be hurt by guns without consequence! As part of response efforts following this tragedy, Congress passed federal legislation known as “The Brady Bill” which mandated strict background checks on all purchasers of handguns through federally licensed firearm dealers! This legislation also created requirements for manufacturers and sellers alike to provide information about every buyer including their address, occupation(s), mental health profile (if available), criminal record(s), etc., prior to sale! It would be nearly thirty years before these requirements would be relaxed again under President George W Bush’s presidency!! 2/3rds way through his second term as president, Bush repealed portions of section 922(a)of Title 18 U S Code regarding possession of assault rifles by those owning them pursuant to State reciprocity agreements!!! On July 14th 2006 Obama signed Executive Order 13673 into effect making it illegal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The town was founded in 1853 by brothers Amos and Solomon Wildwood. It was named for wild woodlands near their farmstead. The first post office in Wildwood was established in 1855. In 1870, the town had a population of 300 people; it grew to 1,752 by 2000. In 2006, Wildwood became one of five towns in Missouri to pass a resolution supporting same-sex marriage; other four towns are Hixson (Kansas), Joplin (Missouri), Independence (Missouri), and Cape Girardeau (Iowa). Wildwood has several parks including an Amphitheater Park which features a lake and amphitheater with seating for up to 6,500 people; Also included is the Community Center which houses restaurants and shops as well as meeting rooms for public events such as dances and picnics.

Wildwood, Missouri is a small town in the Ozarks of central Missouri. It was founded in 1856 by Methodist missionaries, and has remained largely rural until recent decades. The town has a population of about 1,000 people today. The town's history begins with Methodist missionaries from Georgia who came to the area in 1856. They were looking for a place to set up missionary stations after seeing how successful it had been in neighboring Kansas City. After landing at Big Bayou on the banks of the Arkansas River, they built a few sod homes and began to preach Christianity to the local Indian tribes. It wasn't long before Wildwood became known as a religious leader center for Republicans across the state. In early 1860, Republican James Henson formed a political party here and started running for office. He won two seats on the local school board before leaving for good in 1861 to pursue his ambitions as an StatesmanGovernor of Missouri under Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln made Wildwood one of his key stops when he visited Springfield during his first term as President in 1865-1866. Here, he met with farmers and businessmen who were helping pay for his new war efforts with money obtained from captures by Confederate forces during the Civil War (Wildwood residents contributed $2 per acre). When Lincoln returned home from that trip, he announced that Wildwood would be receiving its own post office soon – something that had been desired by many residents since 1857! In 1870, Wildwood attained city status when it joined Topeka as Topeka & Leavenworth County's first consolidated municipality; however, much like other small towns throughout America at this time, its growth stalled due to lack of annexation opportunities from larger municipalities within its borders. In 1881-1882, however, following Topeka's incorporation into Kansas City & surrounding counties as part of Wichita County,[1] Wildwood saw an influx of immigrants - both LDS pioneers[2][3] and others seeking relief from Reconstruction policies implemented after the American Civil War ended (+$50 per family) which had devastated many southern states including Missouri.[4][5] These newcomers brought their culture and religion with them,[6][7] while also creating new businesses such as groceries stores (−$11 per year)[8][9] lumberyards (−$14 per ton[10]), taverns (−$5 nightly rate),[11][12] churches (−$4 per night dues+purchase services provided)[13][14], schools (−$1/year/$12 total budget), social clubs (- $5/month/$50 total budget) and farmsteads (+$25/acre).[15],[16] From this period until World War II (1918-1945), Wildwood experienced steady growth which helped contribute to its current size (~1K residents today).[17][18]:319:106:151
