Its main thoroughfare is Main Street which runs perpendicular to Interstate 95 and State Routes 3 and 128 (the latter serving as NH Route 128). Other major streets include Church Street (which bisects downtown), Highland Avenue (a commercial artery branching off Main), State Road 128A (NH Route 128), Perkins Road (named for General John Perkins who fought against British forces during Revolutionary War), service roads leading out of town such as Airport Road/Route 127E and Fayetteville Road/Route 126A

In 1812, Manchester became part of NH when it was organized as a town under the Massachusetts General Court system. At this time,Manchester had just over 1,000 citizens and only six buildings other than Meeting House Square! However, over time Manchester grew larger and more popular among easterners for its scenery (including beautiful farms), good educational opportunities for children (including one of America's first high schools),and vibrant nightlife scene. In 1865, NH grantedManchester voting rights which helped make it an even more influential community within the state. In 1920sNorman Vincent Peale spent much of his wintertime living at home here before moving on to Pasadena). This period saw buses running through downtown during rush hour so that everyone could get around without getting lost) In recent years there have been several efforts made to revive Manchester as an attractive destination for tourists or locals looking for some historical context while still remaining open source center where people can come together to learn about their city/town/state etc.: 1) In 2017 Manchester celebrates its 350th anniversary by creating an interpretive trail called "A History Odyssey: From Beginnings To Today" 2) A new restaurant called "The Foundry" opened up inside of Clinton square last year serving Americanized British cuisine 3) redeveloping old mills adjacent to town center into development housing – complete with rooftop gardens – has brought back interest in downtown businesses
