Bridges across Hackensack River made it easy for residents to get to work or shopping without leaving their homes. According to some estimates there are over 100 businesses that operate within a radius of 2 miles of beachwood including several banks and large retailers like Macy's department stores as well as smaller boutiques and art galleries dotting every inch of this vibrant community - making it one if not THE most business friendly place you'll ever visit! In recent years development has been picking up with new construction taking place along all major arteries leading into beachwood including: I-95/I-86 interchange; NJ Transit's Hackensack Terminal; Rutgers University campus; Asbury Park Convention Center; local high school - Stonington High School - located just down the street from our Municipal building... so much happening so quickly that it can be hard to keep up! There are also several golf courses located within minutes' drive making beacheswood an excellent location for both locals and visitors looking to spend some time outdoors while still enjoying all that beachwood has to offer!

Beachwood, New Jersey is a borough located in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 census, the borough had a population of 26,569. Beachwood was formed on May 5th, 1868 from parts of Rahway and West Orange. It was named for Beachwood Point on Long Island Sound. The first settler in Beachwood was Samuel Beecham who arrived in 1824 and claimed land that would later become part of the town of Rahway. In 1827, he married Mary Kitchingham and they founded what is now known as Beechamstown near where their home still stands today. Samuel and Mary's son John Beecham also moved to Beachwood from Rahway in 1828 and began to farm the land that would eventually comprise the present-day borough. John's wife Esther (née Gorman) also lived in Beachwood at some point during its early years. In 1848, while living in Princeton Township, George Washington Smith purchased 2nd lot in section 8 north of Sussex Avenue which became the nucleus for what would become beachwood. On October 12th that year he donated this tract of land to be used as a public school ground for his children only – no one else could purchase it until after his death! The first ever public school teacher teaching grades 1-8 was Mrs Eunice Aiken from nearby East Brunswick who taught there from 1851 until her retirement in 1906! In 1860s much development took place along Delaware Avenue with homes being built by Isaac Weingarten (1814-79), Abram Robbins (1825-86) and others prominent individuals associated with Morrisania or Newark’s South Side community during this time period such as physician Dr Jameson Coolidge (1820-93). This artery leading out into Seaside Heights through beachwood served as an important commercial artery linking Newark with its surrounding communities during this period; providing access to both fresh produce forests grown close to shorelines as well as manufactured goods coming ashore disembarking at various points around Rutgers University campus like Newark’s Ferry Landing on Bayonne Creek before heading inland again via Route 9 southward towards Elizabethtown Crossing before terminating at Fresh Kills Park near Raritan River waterfront . On September 15th 1870 when Union soldiers invaded Princeton Township pursuant to an order by Mayor Lewis Morris seeking reinforcements against local pro- Underground Railroad protesters occupying several places within town including Rahway - BeachWOOD residents did not panic but instead gathered together inside their homes using whatever cover they could find least seen by the advancing troops - soon enough all exits were closed off inside beacheswomen homes preventing any escape except for those fortunate few brave enough to make it out onto Delaware Ave under guard & down into Freehold Township whereupon they were captured/taken back into custody & locked up !! This event forever changed how people view invading armies coming into our township asking us if we wanted them here & doing so without any warning whatsoever !! More than 20 years later when Princeton Borough newly formed decided they needed more police officers so they asked aging Genesee resident Augustus Kelley if he would move his family FROM BEACHWOOD TO REHAGAN then within 2 weeks old village boundaries line had been pushed eastward another 4 miles creating yet another new borough!!! Thank you Augustus for your willingness to contribute your territory BACK IN THE DAY !!
