Rio Rancho, New Mexico is a small town located in Rio Rancho County, New Mexico. The population was 1,824 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Albuquerque metropolitan area and its economy is based on ranching and other agricultural activities. The first scopes were built in this area in 1876 by A.J. Beattie. This was followed by a telescope manufacturing company founded by Rufus King in 1903 which produced instruments for use with telescopes at Santa Fe University. He used a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope that he had built himself at La Salle College. In 1941, Edward Condon developed an instrument called "Condon's Camera" which could be used to photograph objects within 10 kilometers of the Earth's surface without taking pictures of the object itself; it was later renamed "CondonCam". In 1966, Research Corporation bought out Drs.[Edwin] Hubble and his colleagues from La Salle College for US$4 million; they continued working on astrophysics research using their new camera technology until 1990 when it was finally retired because of technological limitations associated with digital photography technology.........................................................................................

In 1879, Villa returned to New Mexico and began what would be known as the Santa Fe Wars. The government refused and Villa destroyed some of the town’s buildings in a rage. In 1865, José Antonio Carlos de las Fuentes married María Antonia Romero y Leal y Ponce de Leon (1821-1892). They were the parents of six children: Don Pedro Romero de las Fuentes (1869-1939), María Dominga Romero de los Santos (1877-1963), Santiago García Posadas (1900-1984), Jesús Enrique Romero Aguilar y Morales (1905-1990)and Doña Ana García Posadas Vázquez (1908-)
