The Depew Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1892. The club has been a member of the NRA since 1934. The club has a rich history in rifle and pistol shooting, first importing rifles from Europe in the early 1800’s. In 1897, the club organized its first annual meeting which resulted in the adoption of the United States Constitution as an international gun treaty standard. In 1910, the Depew Rifle and Pistol Club became affiliated with the NRA and began buying surplus firearms from America’s largest firearms dealer. Between 1911-1914,Depew Rifle & Pistol Club pistols won three consecutive NRA President’s Awards for excellence in handgun shooting competition. In 1916,Depew Rifle & Pistol Club was one of six clubs across New York City to form what is now known as “The New York Shooting Union” with headquarters at 155 West 44th Street in Manhattan. At this time,the NRA was composed of only local organizations throughout America; by forming this union membership grew rapidly nationwide. From 1916-1918 our club produced over 100 trophies (pistols only) at five state championships including two national tournaments held at Camp Perry on Long Island Sound where we placed third both times! These championship successes helped attract new members to our sport while also developing our skillset which would be important during World War II when handguns were very scarce domestically and most Americans relied on shotguns for their defense! Through all these years,the Depew Rifle & Pistol Club has always had a strong support system within the NRA and continues to offer opportunities for shooters to learn more about how to shoot handguns safely and competently. We are proud to have been a part of this organization since its inception and look forward to continuing this tradition into future Generations!

The Depew Rifle and Pistol Club was founded in 1892 by John W. Gifford, a Congregational minister. It was the first rifle and pistols club in America. The club sponsored competitive shooting events for both individuals and teams from 1892 to 1964. In 1934, the Depew Rifle & Pistol Club became a member of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF). From then on, the NSSF sponsored all major annual NRA summer firearms shows in Depew.
Depew, New York is a small town in Erie County, Pennsylvania. The population was 2,098 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo-Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in Depew was Nicholas D'Alesandro in 1795. The village was named for General John Fenton Depew, who fought in the American Revolutionary War and later became a U.S. Senator from New York State. D'Alesandro's grandson, Nicholas D'Alesandro II (1797-1868), built a gristmill on what is now East Main Street in 1827 and developed it into an woolen mill that manufactured cloth, paper products, boots and saddles until 1890 when it closed down due to economic decline. In 1875 Rev. Wm Hickey organized the Presbyterian Church of Depew which remains active to this day with worship services being held at the First United Methodist Church on North Main Street since 1915. There is no one definitive answer to this question, as the history ofeye protection for shooters can be quite varied and complex. However, some of the earliest examples of shooting gear and methods were developed in times when firearms were used for hunting and target practice only, not for combat. One such early form of eye protection was a type of “bunny ear” head covering that was worn over the ears. These ear muffs were first created by Captain John Fenton in 1811 while he served with HMS Beagle on an expedition to Antarctica. The captain had been inspired to develop the Beaufort Ear Muffs after observing penguins who使用角幕式的防止眼球进入头部 (see Figure 1). During World War II, many military personnel adopted gas masks as their primary source of defense against H2S (hydrogen gas), which was used extensively by Axis forces in Europe during World War II. Gunners serving in either air or land units commonly wore metal face shields called "Fat Boy" helmets while firing artillery and anti-aircraft weapons from aircraft carriers or land positions ashore; these helmets also featured adjustable straps that allowed them to be adjusted to fit different shapes and sizes of faces carbohydrates propellant shells (Figure 2).

Depew is a census-designated place in the town of West Seneca, Niagara County, New York, United States. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what would become Depew was Nicholas Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti on July 14, 1814. They were natives of Lombardy, Italy and worked as farmers near Rome before coming to America. The village had its beginnings as a cluster of log huts on an area now known as Depot Street. A post office was established in 1821 and named for Capt Samuel Depew (1783-1864), contractor with the Erie Canal Company who had built the road from Buffalo to Lockport/Buffalo that became known as "the Erie Canal". Depew's growth accelerated during the late 1800s due to increased trade along the canal route and influxes of immigrants who came to work in various mills around town such as those run by Daniel Drake & Sons or John Brown & Brothers. During this time a number of churches were erected including First Baptist Church which still stands today on Elm Road east of Depot Street; Trinity Episcopal Church which replaced one destroyed during a fire in 1870; Methodist Episcopal church built 1889; Catholic church built 1899; Presbyterian church constructed 1907; and finally Congregationalist church organized 1912 which remains today on Elm Road east of Depot Street. During World War II many factories were located in or near Depew including Ford Motor Company's Rouge Factory #2 that produced 1 million vehicles between 1941-1945 while General Motors' Willow Run Factory produced more than two million cars between 1927-1946 Additionally, three hospitals were located within miles of depews borders: Western NY Hospital (now Masonic Medical Center) on Main Street west of Route 9 north about two miles northwest of Depew Village Hall and Central NY Hospital (now Niagara Valley Healthcare Corp.) off Route 502 about four miles southwest of depews border
