Kingston is a small town in Erie County, New York, United States. The population was 4,859 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Buffalo–Niagara Falls Metropolitan Statistical Area. Kingston is located on the southern bank of Niagara River and is bordered by Otsego County to the east, Cayuga County to the north, and Seneca County to the west. The first settler in Kingston was Nicholas French in 1764. By 1800, there were 226 people living in Kingston. In 1825, John Stephenson built a mill on what is now Main Street. A post office was established in 1838 and remained open until it was discontinued in 1892. The community began to grow rapidly due to its location on the Susquehanna River and easy access to transportation including canal boat travel from Buffalo and route 8 (now US 9) which led directly into Kingston harbor. By 1860, there were 1,000 residents living in Kingston and it had become an important commercial center for surrounding counties. By 1870, local businesses included a flour mill operated by John Stephenson's son-in-law George Fenton Cushing; a store operated by Ebenezer Holmes; two brickyards; four churches—two Baptist and two Methodist—and twenty-four dwellings assorted from frame shacks to elegant brick homes erected between 1830 and 1880 according as reported prices indicated within each structure type). During World War II many jobs that would have been available outside of the military were filled with locals who volunteered or were drafted because they could not find other work elsewhere during those difficult years – such asbuilding tanks or working at factories near Niagara Falls while their families stayed home with troops stationed nearby (the war actually created more opportunities for skilled tradesmen than many people might realize as so many men serviceable during wartime found employment AFTER THE WAR when they returned home). In 1949, Kingston Elementary School opened followed by Queen Elizabeth High School opening in 1954 which became one of only three high schools open across Erie county at that time (the others being Canandaigua High School & Gratz High School both closed after 1965). In 1970 main street was widened with new sidewalks and streetlights adding much needed safety for night operations as well as creating more room for businesses along Main Street today! It wasn't until 1987 when this once small town started experiencing significant growth around its downtown area attributable largely to annexation of portions of neighboring towns including North Tonawanda which resulted in an increase in housing options available closer to downtown making it easier for workers commuting into downtown Kingston/North Tonawanda jobsites rather then having long drives out into rural areas like Otsego/Cayuga Counties etc... Growth continued through1993 when Kingston annexed South Tonawanda resulting in yet another increase of housing options closer to downtown again making it easier for workers commuting into downtown Kingston/South Tonawanda jobsites rather than having long drives out into rural areas like Otsego/Cayuga Counties etc... With rapid economic development announced plans are underway presently moving forward with redevelopment downriver along Buffalo Creek linking up with existing business districts throughout Niagara Falls…..In short we have seen major expansions (+9% population since 2000)of our city limits without any real change taking placewithin them….What makes us feel most confident about this particular transition period are our repeated assurances made dur ing these past few decades that no matter what happens within our borders future development will happenhere – always keeping our focus squarely on providing quality job opportunities for everyone involved!!

As technology improved so did handgun design, making it easier for civilians to purchase and use firearms in self-defense situations without risk of injury or death. The oldest settlement in Kingston was built by Dutch colonists on an island near what is now Niagara Falls in 1664–1665; it was abandoned when the island was burned by Native Americans in 1704–1705 during King George's War. A new settlement was founded by English colonists on Long Point (now part of Kingston) opposite present-day Niagara Falls in 1713; this settlement became known as Kingston because it lay along the then-western border of Upper Canada (the modern province of Ontario). In 1734, two years after Queen Anne's accession to the British throne as James III & VI, her father made an agreement with France for French Canadians who had volunteered to serve his troops against Spanish forces stationed in North America to be admitted into British society as free men; this led to increased immigration from France to Canada from that year onwards. By 1800, there were more than 5500 French Canadians living in Kingston alone; many came from areas such as Montreal and Quebec City where their families had settled before Confederation. On July 24, 1814,[1] during American Revolutionary War efforts shut down Fort Erie onNiagara River following news reports that General John Burgoyne had surrendered at Saratoga Pass without battle or surrender terms,[2][3] smallpox broke out among British soldiers besieging Fort Erie and soon spread throughout Albany County;[4] within days over 30% of all fortifications along Lake Erie had been lost due to illness or injury.[5][6][7][8] Lieutenant Colonel George Washington Moncton wrote:[9]: "As we advanced through these sickly woods...our thoughts were constantly upon our families back at home who anxiously awaited our return with hourly expectation."[10]: "In less than three weeks [from July 24], every man amongst us but five succumbed - twentynine percent beyond ordinary mortality for that season."[11]: “This terrible scourge” quickly took “a dreadful toll”: more than half a dozen officers dead including Brigadier General Samuel Prescott[12]: More than 400 men fell ill including 200 officers and men from Schenectady Battalion which joined up with Major Isaac Brock’s brigade at Buffalo Creek shortly before they too perished from fever.[13],[14] About 5000 militiamen barracks were destroyed or damaged,[15](Table 7)[16])—making Kingston one of only nine American settlements across Canada affected.[17]. At least 350 women also contracted smallpox barbarously killing many children[18]; however no deaths directly attributed to smallpox have ever been conclusively proven though almost certainly some did die indirectly from other causes such as contact with infected animals or blood transfusions received while sickened).[19],[20] Settlement leaders met early next morning aboard HMS Pinafore under commandof Captain Robert Barclay Fraser (later Commodore Forbes) [] [] [] [][] ][] [] []; orderlies brought coffee and hotcakes while surgeons attended Tooke’s patients [...]ordered ten barrels oil per day for lamps and kerosene [...]ordered fifty sacks flour per day for bread...and ordered four wagonloads pork daily...all these Orders were carried out faithfully until Thursday night when all hands went ashore again".[21] Governor John Graves Simcoe decided not mass transports due largely to fears smallpox would get among troops disembarking late from ships returning home on October 15th (NYHISTORICAL MUSEUM CONTENT PAGE 390)[22], leading local farmers to transport their own goods rather then waiting for transportations Maniax Virus Symptoms: Fever* Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome—Pneumonia* Guillain Barré Syndrome—Confusion* vomiting* diarrhea* rectal bleeding
