Valley Stream is a town in Ulster County, New York, United States. The population was 1,545 at the 2010 census. Valley Stream is adjacent to the city of Kingston and the Towns of Newtown and South Orange. The valley was first settled by Germans in 1795. In 1825, settlers from Connecticut founded the village of Vallejo on a bluff above the present-day town of Valley Stream. The name Vallejo originated as an Anglicized form of "Valhalla" – meaning "land of eternal life." In 1828, when Niagara Falls opened up new territory within Monmouth County, including parts of Valley Stream and South Orange, the villagers voted to incorporate as a village under the name Niagara Falls. In 1857, part of Ulster County became Tully Township and in 1865 portions of Ulster and Kings counties were merged into New York State to create Queens County. On July 1, 1898–99, Valley Stream became one Borough in Queens with a population estimated at 2,000 people; it would grow rapidly through annexation until its current size by 1910 when it had over 6500 residents (including 3200 students). On December 5th 1907 Riverbend Dam burst leaving behind high water levels that flooded all but two-thirds of Valley Stream for more than three weeks; this event has been called "the worst flooding in New York history". The flooding caused extensive damage to businesses and homes which totaled $10 million dollars ($ million today). After much debate over what to do with the flood waters (and especially those from Riverbend Dam), President Theodore Roosevelt ordered construction on Candlestick Park which would house both baseball and soccer games while allowing navigation across Long Island Sound without overflows or wrecks. Construction began on December 15th 1907 and finished on April 25th 1908 - makingCandlestick Park one of America's largest sports venues ever constructed!

Valley Stream is a small town in New York County, about 18 miles east of the city of New York City. It was chartered on November 4, 1786, by Nicholas de Montresor and Sir George Johnson. The town was named for the valley in which it stood. Valley Stream watercourse flows through its center and branches off several otherributaries including Susquehanna River, Ramapo River, and Chemung River. Valley Stream is a rural community with a population of just over 1,000 as of the 2010 census. The first settlers to live in Valley Stream were farmers who arrived between 1786 and 1790. In 1793, John Montgomery laid out a road from Great Lawless through Valleville to Valley Stream; this made it easier for people to get to their crops and hunting grounds south of the river. By 1800, there were over 100 households living in Valley Stream. Over time, many people moved away from Valley Stream because of changes in the environment or because they couldn’t afford to live there. However, most residents remain involved in local politics and culture today. In 1814-15, when America went into war with England over control of Canada (the War of 1812), many residents left for safer shores but some returned later that year when peace restored itself. A few years later still more came back when hostilities ended and trade resumed between America and Europe recommenced despite differences over what should be done with Canada’s northern provinces (New Brunswickers voted Confederation instead). Many new families arrived after that: some brought their livestock with them (the first milkmen came here in 1821); others found work on farms or among construction crews during Reconstruction following the Civil War—a time period often remembered as one of great social change within American society specifically within the working class communities along both coasts where large numbers had moved up since emancipation centuries earlier
