The original name for the city was "Avery" after General James Avery who fought against Spanish forces at San Antonio de Bexar (now San Antonio). Asheville had its first municipal election on November 5, 1907 and Mayor Sibley won with 55% of the vote to opponent William Whitehead's 45%. On February 14, 1908 when newly formed Buncombe County became part of North Carolina, Avery became part of that county too with new voting boundaries which limited his influence within town limits. On March 15th 1908 City Council Meeting adjourned without taking any action on resolutions asking for annexation into Johnston County or creating a public library because no votes were cast to annex into Johnston County at that time; this suggests that those interested did not want to become part of what would becoming Asheville just yet! On July 1st 1909 City Council decided to rename themselves "Asheville" due to growth concerns about reaching 100+,000 residents! By 1913 there were over 150 businesses operating in downtown Asheville with an estimated tax rate greater than $2 per capita! In 1915-16 during World War I there were shortages due to American entry into World War I but because President Woodrow Wilson made war munitions available free to countries allied with America (the European Allies), Asheville prospered despite being far away from battle zones; this policy continues up until today as companies such as Boeing have their plant located near Raleigh/Durham while others like JBL resistor are headquartered outside Raleigh proper even though they use Durham Regional Airport! In 1924-25 plans started developing for a new shopping center called "Century Park" which would be adjacent to present day Civic Center off Orange Blossom Trail however ownership passed through several hands before finally coming under control by locally owned First National Bank who leased it back To Wofford Development Corporation who then leased it back again To NRT Associates Incorporated who ultimately built Market Square Shopping Center next door on May 4th 1990!! Today you can still find some remnants from these previous plots including Century Park Drive where once stood what may have been market square park & access road leading northwest out towards town limits

It was not until the 16th century that someone decided to create a pair ofbinoculars specifically for use in astronomy, which we now know as telescope! It wasn’t until 1795 that Frenchman Antoine-Jacques Conte developed what is known as the Conte Telescope or simply the Conte Lens system. This device featured four lenses each fitted onto an armature and moved back and forth so that it could be rotated into any position inside or outside a room! In 1814, American physicist George Stephenson invented what is now known as the Stephenson Telescope or simply the Stephenson Lens System. This device featured three lenses each fitted onto an armature and rotatable into any position inside or outside a room! These telescopes allowed people to view objects located miles away without having to leave their home! By 1830, all European countries had built telescopes capable of resolving details smaller than 50 yards! This allowed astronomers such as James Clerk Maxwell (1831-1905)to study tiny particles in space! Over time, bigger telescopes became available and this led to new ways of using binoculars for observing purposes including skywatching, meteorology, photography, battlefield scenes etcetera. However, most people still primarily usebinoculas for watching television shows and movies because these devices offer greater magnification than other typeof optic equipment available today such as digital cameras/cell phones/smart TVs etcetera

In recent years there has been some development aroundthe waterfront district; however it is still controversial because it doesn't include any residential neighborhoods or businesses nearthe water
