During World War I, Triangle Arms manufactured rifles for the military as well as handguns for civilian sale. After the war, Triangle Arms merged with other firearms manufacturers and ceased production in 1925. Cary is a town in Craven County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 9,868 at the 2010 census. Cary is part of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cary was founded in 1836 as a small settlement on the edge of what is now Craven County by Loyalists who had fled to North Carolina during the American Revolution. It grew rapidly after construction of the Raleigh and Durham Railway in 1845 made it possible for goods to be shipped from eastern Tennessee and Virginia to local businesses and consumers. In 1851, Cary incorporated as a city under state law. In 1960, when Craven County became one district (the original 12 were carved out of Wake Forest County), Cary became its seat. The population continued to grow until 2000 when it reached 10,815 residents; however, this growth has slowed since then due to several factors including limited job opportunities and an overall decline in economic activity inCraven County. The community is home to several hospitals – UNC-Chapel Hill Medical Center (the largest hospital within 1 mile of town) and Duke University Chapel Hill – as well as two high schools: Eastman School District's Trinity High School and Southside Schools Inc.'s Cary Senior High School which both serve grades 9 through 12th grade students; five shopping malls located within 2 miles of town; three restaurants/bars - Gourmet Burgers & Fries on Airport Boulevard near Interstate 277; two churches - First Baptist Church (founded in 1865) and Pisgah Presbyterian Church (founded in 1861). As well as a variety of other businesses providing services such as grocery stores, pharmacies, beauty salons/spas/massages etc., making Cary one of the most active communities in central North Carolina. Despite its small size compared with larger cities such as Charlotte or Raleigh - home to over 150 million people - Cary has managed to maintain strong cultural traditions that include many annual music festivals including Folk Festivals each May lasting for several days; art shows throughout the year including many locally produced pottery shows throughout early summertime called "Street Art Day"; numerous craft fairs held throughout late fall/early winter featuring unique artisanal items from various areas around the country; twice annually hosting Coastal NC’s Bluegrass Festival which brings together some of America’s top bluegrass bands performing at venues all across downtown Raleigh while also having educational events related thereto such as “Music Appreciation Month” where children learn about traditional instruments used by bluegrass artists from area performances throughout September-October
