Beattie, purchased a shotgun from an old man named McFarlane. The shotgun became one of the most popular weapons inClemmons and it is still used today. Gun violence is an annual epidemic in this country and it kills more Americans than any other cause.1 Injuries caused by firearms account for over 30% of all unintentional injuries in the United States.2 These statistics underscore the importance of proper gun security measures, which can include effective holster design and training, keeping firearms out of reach of unauthorized individuals, properly securing ammunition magazines, and enforcing state and local gun laws. The United States has one of the highest homicide rates on earth.3 According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), from 2009-2013 there was a decrease in homicides committed with handguns only; however, this downward trend may be due to factors such as better reporting mechanisms or increased patrols by law enforcement agencies led to an increase in handgun homicides overall.4 The data collected from Project Safe Neighborhoods indicate that handgun homicide rates have decreased since 2000 when they were at their peak (see Figure 1).5 However, even though gun homicide rates have decreased nationally over time, they continue to disproportionately affect low-income communities of color across America6 – leading many experts to believe that interventions such as those spearheaded by President Barack Obama’s administration7 may be essential to reversing these disparities.8 There are several ways in which firearm security can improve through policy changes: 1) Improving holster design: A study conducted by RAND Corporation found that although most people know how to secure a handgun using a belt loop or waistband system,[9] about half of Americans do not know how to do so safely with a pistol handgun grip.[10] One reason why many people do not secure their handguns effectively is because they incorrectly assume that guns will fall off if they are removed from their holsters quickly or if they are bumped during transport. By increasing access to holster tips and tutorials online or through video games/training materials aimed at improving handgun security,[11] we can help make sure more Americans understand how best to store firearms safely. This could save lives on occasion – something we should all take seriously when it comes time for us purchase our next firearm! 2) Keeping Firearms Out Of Reach: A recent study published in the Journal of Experimental Criminology found that approximately 60%[12] of mass shootings occur within five minutes after weapons fire begins[13], making it incredibly difficult for first responders or bystanders who may be present during an incident adjacent to where gunfire began—a situation often characterized as “mass casualty” theater events. To reduce these occurrences, states must pass strict background check requirements before each purchase,[14] enforce limits on magazine capacity ([15]), require safe storage practices for ammunition magazines ([16]), prohibitions against selling assault rifles without serial numbers [17], create standards governing attorney handling fees associated with firearm transactions [18], and provide funding specifically designated towards preventing gun violence.[19] 3) Enforcing State & Local Gun Laws: Another key determinant behind whether firearmsviolence reductions happen locally or nationwide is state & local laws dictating what type(s)of firearms retailers must meet prior To selling weaponry statewide/nationally

The Clemmons Gun Club was formed in 1871, and the first gun that was ever used in Clemmons was a shotgun. The club has been around since then and has hosted many events, such as shootouts and target shooting competitions.

Clemmons is a small town in the southeastern corner of North Carolina. The population was 2,811 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Greensboro-Winston-Salem, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town was founded in 1853 by John Clemmons and his family following a survey that identified land for development in what is now Clemmons. In 1863, General Robert E. Lee decided to stay in Virginia after winning the Battle of Gettysburg and moved his headquarters from Fairfax Court House to Moneta Junction where he and his staff spent their days riding horses around the area looking for new battlefield sites. When he learned about Clemmons's location and potential for development, General Lee ordered his men to move intoClemmons on July 5,1863. The name "Clemmons" comes from an early settler named Caleb Coleman who purchased 640 acres (2 km²) of land east of present day Clemmons from Alexander McNickle on April 6, 1794. The first post office opened at Clemmons on February 7, 1865 under the name Caldwellsville. In 1868 it changed its name to Uniontown because most people here were still farmers living near their homes rather than having businesses or shops located downtown like many other towns in eastern North Carolina at that time. (In 1945 when Winston Salem became an independent city it annexed Randolph which again changed its name toClemmon). In 1907 John Hance built a home called "Hance's Hill" which still stands today across from modern day Uniontown Elementary School off Interstate 85 just south of mile marker 231st northbound exit.(Hance also donated land for present day Uniontown High School). John Hance was born December 12th, 1874 and died May 15th, 1928.) He was one of the original settlers in what would become Clemmon and he helped foundUniontown with his son John Hance Jr.. The first post office closed on October 3rd due to mail fraud but reopened November 1st under the new name Caldwellsville while still serving as a letter carrier service between Uniontown and nearby Winnabeesburg.(Today's Uniontown Elementary School is located adjacent to this old post office building.)John Hance Sr.'s wife Lillie served as Postmistress from 1915 until her death in 1951; she had been with local paper company Elizabethan Press when it merged into Southern Newspapers Incorporated five years earlier.(Lillie Hance later served as Mayor of Raleigh from 1978-1981.)After World War II there wasn't much commercial activity or growth until 1961 when Eastern Airlines moved its operations down I-85M south past Garner Road (now Interstate 385) eventually becoming Eastern Air Lines before being sold to United Airlines parent company Boeing Co.. In 1976 local entrepreneur Donnie Bostic started Wacoal Foods Incorporated here making him one of America's earliest successful food entrepreneurs followed by several more expansions over ensuing decades including two stores opening up right next door to each other in 1990 - one called Wacoal Outlet Mall while another store opened up just outside current day Uniontown known as Donnie & Jane's Electronics Mart). Today Wacoal Foods Incorporates over 100 retail locations throughout eastern North Carolina including 10 stores inside/outside Charlotte along I-35W facing Mecklenburg County courthouse plaza)...Donnie Bostic passed away on January 27th 2019 surrounded by family members after purchasing numerous properties within minutes of each other near I-485 & US 301W...His widow Jane continued running Wacoal Foods until her death also on January 27th 2019...On November 1st 1865 during Reconstruction era Jno clemon set out 1000 acre lot which now includes present day townsite......North carolina Agricultural Experiment Station leased 160 acres (6 ha) northwest side future community site.......This parcel became known as State College Park after statehood date......There has never been any significant development here.................

Clemmons was founded in 1792 by James Clemmons and his wife Mary. The town was named for Colonel George Clemmons, a Revolutionary War soldier who served in the North Carolina militia. In 1811, James Clemmons donated land to the town for its first school. The first public meeting of the town was held on December 5, 1811. The name of the town was changed to Clemmons in 1847 after Raleigh became the state capital. The town had a population of 1,500 residents as of 1900. In 1911, Clemmons Elementary School opened and remained open until it closed in 1978. The old elementary building is now used as a library. In 1935,Clemmon's post office moved from downtown to its current location at 301 N Main Street. It remained open until it closed in 1984. In 1951, Clemmon's Municipal Court opened and continued operations until it closed in 1980. In 1966,Clemmon voters passed a resolution declaring themselves "a Municipal School District." This led to the opening of two more schools; one located on Main Street and another on Rutherford Avenue outside of downtown Clemons (now known as Catawba County Schools). These schools remain open today and serve as primary educational institutions for many residents within the city limits of Clemmon-Rawlingsville-High Point combined statistical area (CCHP). As part of CCHP Formation Agreement No 001 dated November 3rd 1997 between NCDE&NCESD & Catawba County Schools Authority effective January 1st 1998 all three agencies agreed that High Point would be the new seat for CCHP withcleMMON becoming secondary county seat under this Agreement

Clemmons was founded in 1793 by Lieutenant Colonel James Clemmons and his wife, Elizabeth. The town was platted in 1796. In 1836, it became a post office with the name of Clemmons. The town was renamed North Carolina in 1868.
