Additionally older adults (.99 percent versus .58 percent) also tend to die from electric shock exposure following interaction with a police officer than those younger age groups (.62 percent versus .27 percent) (Phillips & Prentice)."

Lincolnton is a town in Tyrrell County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,898 at the 2010 census. Lincolnton is part of the Greensboro-Winston-Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lincolnton started as a small community on the edge of the Pisgah Forest. On April 12, 1838, Josiah Cleveland and five other men founded what would become Lincolnton on land they had bought from David Dunlap in 1836. The town was named for Colonel James Lancaster (1785-1855), who donated much of the land for Lincolnton. In its early days, Lincolnton depended primarily on slavery to provide its citizens with food and housing. However, during Reconstruction times (1868 - 1895), free black residents started to arrive and help out with local businesses and services. This led to increased economic development in Lincolnton until after World War II when white commercialization took over and jobs became scarce in the area due to technological advances such as radio broadcasting and mass production of standardized products like cars and consumer goods. In recent years, there has been an increase in people living near or within walking distance of various cultural attractions including museums, theaters, restaurants, shopping malls, nightlife venues etc., which has made Lincolnton one of the most popular places to live in Tyrrell County today.
