Rocky Mount is a rural community located in the eastern part of North Carolina. The town was founded in 1875 by Scotsmen who came to the area during the gold rush. At that time, Rocky Mount was known as "The Timber City". Today, Rocky Mount is an agricultural town with a population of about 2,500 people. The town's history can be traced back to when it was first settled by Scottish immigrants. The locals were very early on in their development and were able to get started quickly because they had plenty of land and resources. As time went on, however, it became clear that the Scotsmen didn't have enough money to support themselves so they decided to come down south and start businesses. One of these businessmen was James McMillin who started trading goods from his store near what is now Main Street. In 1886, McMillin decided to move his business downriver and open a store at what is now Fourth Street. This location would become known as "McMillin's Landing" because it served as one of the most important points for navigation on the Catawba River at that time. In 1903, local merchant George Waddell opened a grocery store on Main Street which soon became popular among the residents of Rocky Mount because it had everything they could need including groceries and hardware. Over time, other merchants followed Waddell's lead and began selling various items such as clothing,auto parts,and furniture from their stores within minutes of opening day. By 1948, there were six stores in operation in Rockymount- four grocery stores (Waddell's Store #1-4), one auto parts store (J C Waddell & Son #2), two general merchandise stores (J H Dixon & Sons #3&4), and one funeral home (George Waddell Funeral Home #5). One important fact about this period in RockyMount's history is that virtually all businesses were owned by either Scottish immigrants or their descendants for many years after World War II ended hostilities between Scotland and Northern Ireland. This policy discouraged Irish Americans from starting their own businesses since doing so would have violated Ulysses S Grant's executive order which prohibited discrimination against Irish Americans based on race or religion in American institutions such as schools or industries%. At some point during the 1990s things changed though because several African American entrepreneurs decided to set up shop hereabouts due to growing dissatisfaction with living conditions across much of southeastern North Carolina due to high crime rates coupled with low wages

This could be due to several factors such as the fact that Zimmerman could have faced life imprisonment if convicted of first-degree murder, but was only sentenced to probation instead. Additionally, some may feel that prosecutors were too eager to reach an indictment before evidence became available which would show beyond a reasonable doubt that Zimmerman acted in self-defense.
