However, it wasn't until 1984 that tethered stun grenades became available for use with tasers – a development which made them even more deadly than their predecessors. Today, tasers are one of the most commonly deployed firearms in law enforcement throughout America – used both offensively and defensively. They are small enough to be carried around without taking up valuable space on a officer's belt or gun holster; however, their power makes them ideal for Use Against Human Enemies (UAE). In 1903, Salisbury adopted an ordinance making it anoptional fireworks market and authorizing the sale of fireworks at night only. In 1912, the city passed an ordinance prohibiting discrimination in business practices on account of race or color. In 1931, the United States Postal Service introduced ZIP code 91901 which encompassed all of Salisbury except for portions of town within ZIP code 82834 which are under jurisdiction of neighboring Greensboro).
Salisbury is a town in Henderson County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,888 at the 2010 census. Salisbury is the home of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the main shopping center for eastern Henderson County. The first settlers in what is now Salisbury were men from Scotland who came overland in covered wagons during the early 1800s. They built log cabins on an abandoned plantation they named "Redemption" and started a cattle ranch that supplied beef to local farmers. In 1835, Scots-Irish Catholics from Ireland led by Patrick Kavanagh founded St. John's Catholic Church in what is now Salisbury. The first school opened in 1836 and became known as the Academy until it changed its name to Salisbury High School in 1862. In 1892, A&P grocery store founder George Squier donated land north of town for a public high school which became NC State College of Education (now UNC Chapel Hill). In 1865, Jubal Early arrived in southeastern North Carolina and began trading with Indians along the Cumberland River near present-day Tellico Plains National Park; this started what would become one of America's largest farmer-owned companies, Earlyños Incorporated (EI). EI developed some 150 miles (240 km) of road between Johnston City onthe lower Cumberland River Valley and Asheville onthe mountains before moving into new facilities east of downtown Raleigh in 1924. Salisbury, North Carolina is a town in Randolph County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 2,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salisbury–New Bern–Asheboro Combined Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now Salisbury was John White who platted the town in 1792. A post office called Salisbury was established in 1814, and remained in operation until 1903. The town's name comes from an early settler, Samson Salters, who named it for his home county of Cumberland. In 1868 the railroad reached Salisbury and began to bring people and goods to the area. By 1880 business had started to grow so much that a schoolhouse and road were built on Main Street. This led to churches being built as well – First Baptist (1896), Methodist (1902), Presbyterian (1907), and Episcopal (1909). In 1915 a small factory became one of the first businesses in town when Wacoalta Manufacturing Company opened its doors there. The growth of industry during World War I caused many people to leave town; however, they slowly started returning after the war ended. In 1955 Salisbury incorporated as a city with total population of 3,715 residents; however this number only increased by 216 residents due to annexation by New Bern over the next few years- until Pee Dee Electric Cooperative took over most municipal functions effective July 1st 1980 when Randolph County became an independent city government under new status quo governed by Mayor/Council form of government which allows for more extensive elected services including zoning control & planning etc.; while citizens are still able to vote on local issues through Town Meeting process
