Beavercreek is a city in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. The population was 27,527 at the 2010 census. Beavercreek is part of the Greater Cleveland metropolitan area and is located on the east side of the Cuyahoga River. It has been inhabited by Native Americans for more than 1,000 years. The first European settlers arrived in 1796 and named it after Beaver Creek in Pennsylvania. Beavercreek became a town in 1819 and a city in 1829. In 1870, Beavercreek annexed part of neighboring Mentor although both cities remain separate municipalities today. The history of Beavercreek can be traced back to two settlements: One called Scioto Township (now located in Conneaut Township), established about 1800 by refugees from Warrickstown; another called Xenia Township (now located in Medina Township) founded about 1800 by John Beecham Sr., a fur trader who travelled through what is now Ohio on his way to Detroit via Pittsburgh. Beecham named his new community after his home creek, which he had surveyed near present-day Xenia Lake while exploring the area for land grants from the federal government during President James Krieger's administration (1811–1813). Many early residents were white traders or their families who had relocated to this region following American independence from Great Britain; some blacksmiths also settled hereabouts later on during the early period of American settlement before African slavery began existing hereabouts as well. In 1819, however, due to sanitary concerns brought on by rapidly growing populations along with lack of infrastructure specifically designed for such high levels of population growth across much North America at that time—a problem that would surface again during Speer v Boardman case—the Federal Government created an act entitled "An Act For Regulating Commerce Amongst Indian Nations" which included provisions allowing large numbers of white citizens within Indian nations (emphasis added) This act led to increased tension between white colonists living within Indian nation boundaries and those residing within Mdewa Pottawatomie Nation adjacent thereto over issues such as access to water resources and hunting grounds – conditions that would continue into this era with various manifestations such as Mingo Apatow v Ladd et al.: 535 U.S 792 (2008). By 1830 there were several ferryboats running regularly between Xenia Point & Mentor landing point & main river mouth making travel downriver quite easy (& cheaper). However due mostly 2nd hand information available at that time few people knew about it so most travelers just went straight out w/ whatever goods they could find shoved inside their carryalls onto boats! Bridges built over creeks soon became necessary because even though rivers provided good crossings no one wanted their house perched atop a bridge overlooking something they couldn't touch or use! Even today some bridges still have remnants hanging off them from when ferries used them back then… But enough about me 🙂 By 1840 there were 9 vote owners & 3 managers employed full-time doling out $10 per month each (& Received no pay for attending council meetings)….. So we must ask our question…. Who really ran things around then? Population Growth rate continued unabated thru 1850’s did Council get any real power then? Likely not since many residents either didn’t want it or couldn’t afford it….. Which leaves us wondering…… What did “the people” think OF THEIR OWN City Hall??????
