Long, created a system based on the design of his father's pistol grip shotgun. The first rifles to be made in Grove City were built by various means including forging rails from tree-knot wire and then pounding them into shape; this technique was used to build basic stocks for shotguns and rifles from 1875 until 1903. In 1903, rifle stocks technology moved forward when Dr. David Hemenway developed an improved type of stock known as the Hennepin System. This new stock system allowed shooters totelescope their rifles while they Ammunition was being fired thereby improving accuracy and range. It also eliminated the need for a sling which gave shooters greater flexibility while firing their rifles.

The first European settlers in what is now Franklin County were Frenchmen who arrived in 1788. They named their new land La Salle after Jean-Baptiste Colbert, the Minister of Finance for France under King Louis XVI. The town of La Salle was platted in 1792 by Colonel John Noble from central Ohio as part of the Northwest Territory created by Congress during the Louisiana Purchase Treaty of 1803. On November 10, 1800, President James Kenedy signed legislation creating Grove City as a village on the Scioto River within present-day Cleveland Township; it had been proposed to name it Cleveland but was vetoed by then-Mayor Nicholas Scherer because he felt that Cleveland would have come to be associated with Cleveland Heights (the adjacent borough). In 1825–26 Methodist Reverend Thomas Jarratt organized a group of Methodists called "The First Methodist congregation in Willoughby Township" which soon became known as Grove City because it lay east of present-day Ironton Road on Muskegon Creek between what are now Maplewood Avenue and Union Boulevard. On October 12, 1830 – also known as "First Sunday School Meeting" – Rev. Jarratt's group erected a frame structure (later replaced) for worship inside what is now Elmira High School Gymnasium; this building served as home for Grovesville's first school class until 1836 when Griggs Academy opened on Euclid Avenue nearby (now Elmira Place). That same year Reverend Jarratt formed another congregation called "The Second Methodist church at Grove City." At this point there were actually three churches serving Grove City: Revs. Jarratt's "First", Hargrave & Beal's "Second", and Taylor's "Third". A possible fourth church may have been established around 1839 but never built due to lack of funds or lack of interest from either congregation members or leaders alike; evidence suggests that this church may have existed only schematically before being abandoned or dissolved altogether sometime prior to 1840. During these early years both Congregations worshipped inside various homes until such time as they could build their own permanent buildings outdoors following Federal guidelines set forth by Governor Andrew Johnson pursuant to his Executive Order No., “An Order concerning Religious Freedom” issued January 20th 1865 while still governor concurrent with General Sherman’s march through the Southwestern states beginning December 14th 1865 following Joseph Johnston’s surrender at Appomattox Court House on April 9th 1865 which ended all hostilities between North & South America resulting in defeat for Confederate forces including General Lee who surrendered at Appomattox Court House on April 9th 1865.) On October 15th 1830 Samuel Eaton officiated at first baptism using water drawn from Muskegon Creek although no record exists extant indicating whether any baptisms took place subsequently occurring thereafter utilizing other means such as flashlights or candles lanterns due largely to darkness/foggy conditions prevailing throughout much OF Ohio during those days even today especially along certain portions Of Lake Erie resultant from extreme cold spells scourge many areas thruout much OF OHIO during those difficult times.) Accordingly Pastor Mr Eaton baptized several children belonging To Mrs Parker who resided near Byers Street corner lot located where Ziegler Avenue currently stands.) In short about 2 weeks later Indian Chief Bigtree visited local shopkeepers offered goods free if he would go away emptyhanded causing some excitement amongst local citizens most notably Timothy Haggerty owner / Operator Of The Haggerty Mill located just south east side door southwest corner lot road current day Waverly Drive location where store remains today) From here on out Indian chief represented local Native American merchants fresh off battlefield selling whatever goods they possessed without asking permission nor expecting anything in return thereby quickly gaining popularity among area residents mostly male inhabitants primarily miners prospectors etc... Due largely To Indians working hard locally begin developing trade skills with neighboring communities becoming increasingly dominant over late 1800s thru early 1900s creating numerous prosperous businesses thus thrusting area into major center stage becoming One Of America’s Most Grown Cities thanks largely To numerous talented individuals & families residing therein))

Grove City is a small town in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,898 at the 2010 census. Grove City is part of the Dayton–Middletown–Daytona metropolitan area. It was founded in 1837 by James Grove and his brother-in-law, Samuel Adams. The first post office in Grove City opened on July 10, 1840. The name "Grove" was chosen because it seemed to fit well with the nearby groves of oak and ash trees that were common in the area at the time. In 1852, Samuel Adams sold land that makes up much of what is today Grove City to James Grove's son Amos for £500 sterling${}. This change from a rural community into an inner city led to many of the current residents moving here during the mid-20th century as manufacturing jobs disappeared within miles of downtown Dayton. Downtown Dayton had become increasingly congested since industries like printing and transportation had declined after World War I; this led to developers starting new businesses in downtown Dayton such as Novell Communications and Rubbermaid which grew rapidly thanks to cheap land prices and easy access to Interstate 75 bypassing Dayton which made them prime locations for malls like Middletown Square and FirstEnergy Stadiums which helped make UD Arena one of the most successful sports venues ever built. By 2000 there were only around 100 residents living Downtown while 1,000 people lived on or near Ransom Road outside town limits where they engaged in agriculture or other light industry activities until recently when large amounts of development began happening around Middletown Square with plans for more than 1 million square feet of commercial space being developed over 10 years creating a major retail center that will soon be home to Kroger (the largest grocer in North America) as well as several high-end restaurants including Zuka restaurant which anchors Middletown Square and Belk department store anchored by Sears Canada on Euclid Avenue just east of FirstEnergy Stadiums boundary line making it one of America's most vibrant shopping districts
Grove City was founded by James Grove in 1811. The city was named for James Grove, a Scottish settler who arrived in the area in 1795. In 1836, it became the seat of government for Butler County. In 1868, Ohio passed an act creating the new county of Mahoning and Grove City became its capital. On November 12, 1898, the county Seat Act moved Grove City to Athens, Ohio effectiveJanuary 1st 1899.
