Beaverton is a city in Oregon, United States. The population was 43,814 as of the 2010 census. It is the third-largest city in Oregon and one of its five metropolitan areas. The first gun magazine in Beaverton was founded on November 3, 1894 by George W. Halteman and Fenton E. Taylor at their store on Southeast Sixth Avenue. At that time there were only handguns for sale and no firearms other than shotguns and rifles. The first issue of GUNS MAGAZINE contained illustrations from an artist named Edward Jenssen which caught the eye of then Mayor John Atherton who offered to help start a printing press to print issues monthly with designs by Jenssen and others until such time as manufacturing could be established in Beaverton to make these magazines available to the public. In 1898 guns Magazine moved from its original location to 7th Ave SE where it still stands today as part of Grendel's Coffee House chain today! In 1903 GUNS MAGAZINE merged with another publication called "The Rifleman" which had been published since 1884 by James Burchfield & Sons (later known as Barnes & Noble). The merger created what is now KNIVES NEWSmagazine while "The Rifleman" continued to be published quarterly until 1933 when it became a weekly paper following a move into new facilities at 5th Ave SE adjacent to Grendel's Coffee House chain! In 1911 GUNS MAGAZINE began selling rifles which allowed residents of Portland, Salem, Eugene, Lake Oswego, Grants Pass and points east access to reliable rifles for hunting purposes! This growth led eventually to GUNS MAGAZINE becomingOregon'sFirstPolice Pistol Shop/Gunsmithing Chain starting out at 10th Ave NE back in 1916!! In 1942 GUNS Magazines relocated yet again under new management including Harry Weems who would serve as Publisher until his death in 1971!!! Following Harry Weems' death the magazine passed through several Owners before landing back under the same ownership group that currently operates it today - George W Halteman's sons Scott & Todd Halteman - who continue publishing issues monthly since 1987!!!

Beaverton, Oregon is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. The population was 22,754 at the 2010 census. Beaverton is the second most populous city in Oregon after Portland and home to many high-tech companies including Amazon.com and Intel. The city's nickname "The City of Beavers" comes from its abundance of beavers - which are abundant in the area - as well as its reputation for being an attractive place to live and work. Beaverton was founded by American fur traders on April 29, 1846 as a trading post named Fort George Vancouver. It became a town on July 3, 1854 when it was chosen as the site for the new county seat of Multnomah County. The first courthouse in Beaverton was built in 1861 and served until 1907 when it burned down. In 1916 Beaverton annexed portions of Hood River Township so that it would have its own government separate from that of Hood River County. In 1969, then-mayor Don Hennessy decided to rename the downtown area Benton Park after his predecessor's wife Betty Lou Benton (1911-1990). At that time there were no major shopping malls or other commercial areas nearby so he began construction on what would become one of the largest public works projects ever undertaken by Multnomah County – building two new parks: Benton Park East and Benton Park West within walking distance of each other across from MAX station.
