-In the early 1800s, scientists were able to microscopically study cells and tissues by using a microscope. -In 1868, German scientist Julius Neumann first realized that all molecules in nature are composed of smaller particles called atoms. -This led to the development of quantum mechanics, which helps us understand how energy behaves at the atomic level. -Quantum mechanics has allowed scientists to explore the behavior of matter and energy in ways that were never possible before.
Indiana was founded in 1775 by the Indiana Company of British traders. The company's first purchase included land on the banks of the Ohio River. In 1803, the company became part of the United States and Indian War when it merged with other companies to form the Northwest Territories Company. The territory soon fell into disarray due to its lack of governance, and in 1814, Ulysses S. Grant became president of the United States and ordered that all territories be organized into districts under his control. This led to Indiana being split into three districts: Western (Midwestern), Eastern (East Tennessee), and Southern (Southwest). In 1831, these districts were combined to form a new district called Indiana Territory. The region that now includes Indiana was originally inhabited by Native Americans who lived near the confluence of two larger rivers: the Wabash River in central Illinois and the Mississippian River in easternIndiana. The area was explored by European settlers in both early eighteenth century and later during this era as part of efforts to gain access to resources such as fur trade goods and land for development. By 1800, however, most Native Americans had been forced out of their homes by whites and began to move westward into what is now Oklahoma or Kansas; this process is often referred to as "the Great Bison Migration." While some white settlers did continue exploration and settlement after 1800, it is generally considered that program began petering out around 1830-1840 due largely to a lack of interest from American investors abroad coupled with competition from groups like Mexico City's Coahuila y Tejas Company which had established itself in western Texas just north of present day Indianapolis. However, because much land still remained unclaimed following Indian Removal policies implemented between 1830-1853—in particular those governing how lands should be divided among various tribes—the area eventually grew rapidly population-wise once again beginning around 1840s when interests resumed within sections seeking claims along newly openedIndian Trails leading eastward from Stroudsburg across open country lying east/southeastof present day Indianapolis including portions now known as Delaware County (southwest corner)and Porter County (northwest corner)). These areas were characterized at this time as "The Frontier"due largely to their isolation from major centres such as Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Boston etc.; characterizing them today mostly through remnants of oldIndian trails & settlements remaining throughout region
Indiana, Pennsylvania was a region in the United States that is now part of the Midwest. The area was first settled by Europeans in the early 17th century, and became an important center for coalmining and manufacturing. In the 19th century, industrial growth led to population growth, and the region became a major cotton-producing area. By the late 20th century, though some industries have continued to thrive, Indiana, Pennsylvania has seen significant economic decline.
