Johnstown is a small town in Pennsylvania that was the setting for one of the most infamous shootings in United States history. In what is now known as Bloody Sunday, four officers died including Armstrong before Forrest surrendered without any further fatalities occurring. One commentator wrote: "In less than five minutes ...three men dead; six wounded; seven captured or committed suicide." Sheriff Robertson was charged with two counts of homicide but it ultimately turned out that he only carried out orders from superiors rather than taking personal responsibility for what happened on November 15th.
